Mooney - the girls were fighting in their room last night about sleeping habits! C19 also complained that her dorm bed is so much more comfortable!

And so it begins.....
And, bittersweetly, ends.
Jingle Bells to all.

FINALLY!!!!!
We have a nice bagel breakfast here today, courtesy of the College Counseling department. I'm a happy camper.
Nothing here. I provide my own. We don't even have any kind of holiday party. It's not like it used to be around these parts. I do have a lunch one day next week, with my birthday dinner girls. And maybe another lunch. Not sure yet. After today, I have three work days left for the year. Now, if I just finish shopping, I'd be a happy camper. My brother and sister-in-law once again have me at a loss.

We have our Christmas party this afternoon which, as usual, I will skip. It might be a good time to hit the mall. I'm also shipping Melissa's cupcakes to the family next week, so that's an easy one.
G'morning.
Grading today. Hehehehehehehehehehe.
My Social Tourettes Moment of the Day (and it's barely 8:00 am):
We have a neighbor in our building, let's call her Blucher. (cue the horses). She's probably in her early 40s, two kids, husband, career -- totally driven, humorless bitch. She's pushed people out of her way while on her morning run in the park (us included), she always tries to close the elevator doors when other people are trying to get on (us included), she's walked up a block to grab a taxi when other building residents are waiting in front (that's where I draw the line and just walk up ahead of her...) The type I would have thrown out of my office if we'd ever had the misfortune to work together. Nevertheless I always smile and say good morning, because Max likes the kids and vice-versa (and that bothers her. ).
This morning she's crossing the street with her husband and the two kids tucked securely between them. Max sees them and starts wagging his tail, the kids respond. I do my usual smile and "good morning," Blucher tightens her grip on her kid, stares straight ahead with that stone-faced grimace and just keeps walking. Maybe it's from the stress of yesterday, maybe I'm just tired of her non-responsive humorlessness, maybe I really am a bitch too (shut up), but I couldn't help myself and I said "Jesus F*cking Christ, it won't break your face-lift to smile once in a while."
Office meeting today from 9:30 to 11:30, followed by pizza lunch and re-purposed gift game.
Melissa's cupcakes! Good idea
Happy Friday.
I am off today - heading to CT for a bunch of doctor's appointments. i've been remiss all year, so have to try to squeeze in whatever I can before the end of the year. Then I'll run around and try to get other stuff done.
Had a fun surprise yesterday - was given tickets to tomorrow's SNL (with Sir Paul!) by my friends at NBC. So excited. Our very own Sir Paul is going to join me! (However, trying to get a dinner reservation last minute at a restaurant near the tree is a bit of a challenge!)
I'm going to try to stay out of BWW trouble today.
Deet!!!!!
We have an office party next Wednesday. I'm practicing my Peanuts Gang dance moves. (Not).
I do a pizza-party for my team with a gift swap next week, also.
Morning!
Using my last 1/2 day PTO today so just gotta make it to noon. Then to the dentist cause Addy and I seem to be on same page.
I watched Rock of Ages the movie last night. At first was cringing but they kinda pulled it out at the end to something somewhat enjoyable.

OMG - what a FABULOUS holiday gift, Addy! I'm going to have to record it and look for you two in the audience!! Oh yeah, and that English singing guy, too.
I've been avoiding doctor's appointments because I don't want to get on a scale. EVER.

Oh, and Addy - did I ever tell you that my best ideas are always stolen (borrowed) from you?

D2 love the story! Addy - much fun!
I am taking many days for the last few weeks.
Happy Friday!
I missed the school's Holiday Party this year. Damn, I kinda miss it every year. But I'm going out with a collegial group of colleagues tonight for Stiltons and Fondue to celebrate the end of this dreadful semester.
Good morning! D2 I just have to say your story gave me a much needed laugh this morning.

As it did for many people! Well...except for a certain family on the UWS.
I'm curious about the husband responses or possible lack there of. Does he ever engage? Or is he like her?
How old are the kids?

Thanks for the morning giggle Deet.
We had a company wide annual meeting and then holidayish thing on Wednesday. I left - there were long lines for food, and I would rather poke my eye out then wait for crappy food I don't really want or need.
The company closes early a couple of days, otherwise, I have contracts that have to be finalized and signed before year end so the vendor's can report the revenue in this fiscal year. End of year is one of the busiest times for me - I think it may have been the inspiration for my screen name...
Ho Ho Ho.
Hey, You!
Girly, the husband is one of those "Master of the Universe" corporate type guys -- not as unfriendly as the wife but not a fuzzy ball of warmth either. They're all short.
I have no idea what their reaction was as I just kept walking and didn't look back. Since I didn't hear any "F*ck You"s, I'm assuming they probably weren't even paying attention, didn't hear me, or if they did hear me chose to ignore it.
