"Who wants to spend a day with me at a showroom?"
I do!! I do!!
So, even though there are a lot of "artsy" people living in my building I should know better than to assume that everyone here will get a Sondheim reference.
One of the women was telling me about her overweight cat who steals her other cat's food, and every time she tries to catch him he's too fast for her. I quipped "And I'm tellin' you them **** cats is quick" and she just continued with "Yes, they really are! BTW, I thought you had a better grasp of English than that. You're a writer, aren't you?"
Addy, when you can curl up on the couch you need to watch HGTV. You can some great tips and ideas from them. I really should have gone into designing being I love, love, love to do things like that. If you need help with anything let me know.
Ah, Deet! Times is hard. Times is hard.
Actually, I had a little Mrs. Lovett connection this morning. Bought Driving Miss Daisy tickets for Mom. Christmas is acomin', so they tell me.
Christmas! I can't believe it's mere months away...
In the meantime, today was a picture-perfect Fall day in the Northeast. I want to put it in a bottle and keep it forever. I adore the Fall.
I'm spending an entire week in NY this week. That hasn't happened in ages, and I loved putting my suitcase away when I got home this evening.
All set to curl up on the couch and watch my favorite line-up of TV tonight on ABC!

What a coincidence - I'm curled up on the couch, ready to watch the same line up! Too bad we're not Nielsen homes.
I couldn't curl up on the couch. It is a gorgeous Spring morning, if a little chilly. I'm waiting for the kitchen elves to arrive for the day. So, no couch-curling for me.
Good morning, all! Had a super spectacular weekend. Back to the grind.
Morning peeps! *Waves to my friend down under*
These weekends go by too fast! I had a great time on Saturday at the Disco concert. Funny how these artists have changed through the years, but their voices held up. Maxine Nightingale did an amazing job of "Lead Me On" and of course her classic "Right Back where we started from". Carol Douglas had everyone singing along to "Doctors Orders". Bonnie Pointer (who I expect was flying high)had the crowd on their feet with "Heaven Must Have Sent You" and "Jump"...everytime she jumped we saw her woo ha! Cory Daye sounding great doing her "Pow Wow" & Chez Chez Le Femme". The headliner of course was France Joli. She brought the house down with her classics, a salute to Donna Summer and her new version of "Hallelujah" (which you can watch the video of if you go to my FB page). It really was a fun night that brought me back to those days when life was so much easier and every weekend was spent at a differnet club dancing the night away.
"Right Back Where We Started From" is my FAVORITE disco song of all time. I wore out the 45 back in the day and I still listen to it about once a week.
I spent Saturday night with my girly, Kristin Chenoweth. This was her first concert after her accident on the set of The Good Wife. Contrary to the news reports that it was simply a hit on the head and not very serious, she sustained a concussion, five stiches to the back of her head, a broken nose, three cracked teeth and three broken ribs. She was a bit nervous if she could pull off a ninety minute show. She was amazing!! Seriously, in the best voice I have ever heard her in, and you know I hear her a lot! She had the audience in the palm of her hand. It's hard to believe that it's been 21 years, almost to the day, that she first walked onto my stage to audition for the Miss State Capitol pageant.

Did they spin you around under the lights, as a living disco ball? The theatre loved spectacular.
Busy, tiring weekend, but not much fun. I'll have to make up for that next weekend.
We'll get some Boogie Fever and Do the Hustle on Saturday night, cuz!

Um...sure. I'll need to borrow Boob's shirt.
Morning. Happy Monday.
Weekend was relatively uneventful. Though I did shop. That was fun. Glad the concerts went well for everyone.
Feeling a little mopey this morning so trying everything in my power to stay in positive spirits and start the week off right.

You need some fairy dust!
Boobs didn't clean this weekend?
No, but J2 did. Until nearly 10:00 last night. I wanted to kill him. This "Fall Cleaning" thing has gotten completely out of hand. I can't find a damn thing this morning.
Oh, and G'morning.
He was cleaning during Revenge? We need to do an intervention.
Since I went to sleep by 10pm on Friday night, I woke up Saturday with a lot of extra energy. I carved a pumpkin, scrubbed my bathroom top to bottom, dusted anything that could be dusted and purged my closets/dressers. My clothes hoarding really knows no end (esp when most of it belongs to someone no longer here). 2 bags for good will and a some for the local consignment shoppe.
Oh crap.
Another friend succumbed this weekend. I meet DC through my fabulous co-worker DH when I worked at Ayer. They were the Auntie Mame and Vera of the Harlem Yacht Club, and I used to go sailing with them. DH called me to let me know DC died from lung cancer this weekend. So sad. A lovely woman, lots of fun. I'll always cherish the memories of skimming over the waters of Long Island Sound with lots of laughter. And gin.
So sorry D2.
Happy Monday Adults.
And Tink, can you come west and stay with me for the weekend - I need some of your energizer bunny energy.
Off to an early Monday meeting, and then home tonight to watch the final debate.
My big excitement this weekend was investigating a keyless entry system for my garage door. That way, even if I forget my keys, and for some reason don't have my car, I can still get in.
Yeah, contingency planning run amuck. Welcome to YWIW's head.
Heya. Busy. With the boss's retirement looming, trying to get all his last minute to do's out of the way.
Wake tonight, funeral tomorrow. Wednesday looks promising, though. A dinner with my birthday girls.

That's quite a week, girly!
YWIW - anytime, lol.
Ugh, a few more hours and this day will be done. I was doing good with the good mood effort for a while but it is starting to subside.... :/
Ok, this is helping....
Spring has sprung, the grass is riz. I wonder where the birdies is. Here 'tis.
