I had a fabulous time last night. Yes, I did take today off, and no, I'm not hungover!

I just realized (duh) - I was born one minute before cocktail hour. That explains A LOT!

When I got to the restaurant last night, the manager came up to me as I was being seated and handed me an envelope. She smiled and said "This is from D1" (my sister.) Inside was a $150 gift certificate!!!

You bet I'm bringing it in! It will join my NY Yankees and American Thaetre Wing mugs on my bookshelf. It's holding a hot ginger spice tea right now.

I was just reading some reviews from plain, ordinary folk.

Concensus is, "eh" to the taste of the cakes/cupcakes, and 2 thumbs up for the pastries. But we already knew that.

Yes we do - although we're also "plain, ordinary folk". But we're plain, ordinary folk with good taste! Any word about how the SFs taste?

So far the cannoli's top the list. The Lobster Claws were too crunchy for some guy's girlfriend, and the cream puffs were mentioned as a close second to the cannoli's.


Nothing about the SF's.


ETA: And people are not happy with the counter staff. At all.

WOW!!!!!

What a gorgeous, wonderful, FABULOUS evening! They are SO good together - absolutely seamless, with a perfect lineup of songs.

And one of the best parts? Because the audience was pretty much all well-heeled middle-aged folks (about 75-80% gay men, I might add!) everyone actually sat and LISTENED to each performance - no Idol-inspired screaming and such. It was actually like going to a concert, instead of a junior high pep rally.

Of course, the response was WILDLY enthusiastic, just respectful of the actual performer AND the other audience members - it was HEAVEN!

We got the CD they have out, which has almost everything they did on it. Their duet of "We Kiss in a Shadow" from THE KING AND I sent me right over the edge.

And, can I just say the Cheyenne is even MORE gorgeous in person - how in the name of God is that possible?!?!?

A perfect evening.
