Very excited for Boobs.
I have no idea who the inane vortex is. My guess is that crazy person who pops in every once in a while writing really bad poetry. Though, that is one hot mess of a guess.
Happy Hump Day all.

Has anyone heard anything on the new cast of Hair?
I just got my roomie tickets for her b-day on Sat and am wondering.

Tink, my friend who I sometimes get the comps from, seemed to love it Sunday. Sounded like he was brought to tears by Jeannette Bayardelle, who I believe, sings Aquarius. Another friend's FB status for Friday's show encouraged everyone he knew to get thee to The Hirschfeld ASAP.

Lol, Moony!!!! :)
When we were on the bus on the way back from JB on Sunday we got caught in traffic in front of that theater and I was watching the stage door antics. Amusing.
So i need to ask some opinions. I try not to be a materialistic person, especially in the last year or so, and I think some people can agree to that. However, is it fair for me to finally have had enough? I love my friends dearly, I do, they have been great the last year or so I've been going through my stuff. But every year it is the same for birthday's - I end up spending $200+ total on them, and well, I don't get quite nearly the response back. I understand that I am in a much better place financially so I never mind it at the time, but my patience is starting to wear thin. last year for Roomie's b-day I spent nearly $150 on food/bar tab when we went out to celebrate (there were a few friends on the bill). the year before I spent close to $200. For my b-day (she was out of work for over a year until she got a temp job a few months ago) this year, she gave me a cute dress and card. But I ended up paying for her ticket for the scavenger hunt thing we did just so she could go.
Well this year she asked if we could go see Rock of Ages on her b-day. I said sure, no problem, let me see if there are discounts. Well things have not been in my favor and there are just 0 discounts for that particular day, so i finally told her and asked if she'd be interested in anything else. Wicked - told her its sold out. A few other shows - told her no discounts avaialble. So that's when i suggested Hair and she was like oh, i guess, whatever. So now I have spent money on tickets to Hair, I already organized a night out on Friday with all of our friends (guess who will end up picking up the bill then too) and then when it comes to dinner or anything on Sat after the show, I'll be the nice one and take care of it. But is it bad that today I am actually getting a bit angry over the whole thing? To me, complaining about money for a close friend's happiness seems selfish on my part but I can't help it. I mean is there a polite way of saying, hey, if we do anything other than the show Sat, you are on your own $$ wise? I just know with my lack of verbal filter it will just come out rude. Also, not that I want recognition per say, but I'd like a little more enthusiasm for all i have done and am doing this year. In a way, it seems like it has now just become expected. i dunno, this could all just be in my head and the byproduct of too much cold medicine.
Sorry for blurting all that out.....

Posted: 3/24/10 at 11:30amI don't think you're wrong or being materialistic, but I do think you're spending way too much on birthdays! Does the roomie have any idea what show tickets cost? If so, she needs a smack. Then again, you also set a bad precedent. And, there's no reason for you to treat anyone but her on her birthday. The rest should be chipping in to pay for her!

And mine's in August.
But unless you said you were paying the bar tab for everyone, why wouldn't anyone even offer up money?! That, right there, is beyond me. I couldn't, in good conscience, not offer or even force my money on whomever was settling the bill.

haha, well come up to Northern NJ for your b-day and 95% guaranteed I'll do the same, lol.
Boobs - does buying a costume for your b-day party count towards the overall $$ total? lol :)
A part of this is also some of my own stupidity. I DESPISE (and we have had convos about this) when it comes time to split the bill, anywhere (unless it is with you people, who are mature reasonable people). Never fail I always end up putting a lot more money into things because people never put enough, then start getting bitchy, blah blah, so just to shut everyone up, I take care of it. My stupid mistake. I really think my lack of patience is going to be my financial ruin, lol.
