I get it, even if I've not seen the movie.

Kansas! Did your gnats go on vacation to Thailand, too? I hear it's the place to be these days.
Tink - I'm spending so much money on this trip that other than the God of Carnage tickets, I haven't bought anything else. We'll hit TKTS on Saturday and see what looks good and what's affordable. Being the good mom that I am (read 'sucker') I'm paying my daughter's way. Her godmother, my friend Julie, is coming with us as well. Julie wants to spend Saturday at museums and daughter wants to spend the day shopping. I have half a mind to say "OK - you go to the museum and you go to the store. I'll see you both at 6:00pm for dinner. Have a nice day."

BWW hates me today, so if I double post, I apologize.
moony - you are such a good mom! Did you work in a trip to Hoboken?

Funny thing about that trip to Hoboken. It was SO important when we were first planning the trip. I booked an early train for friday so we could (hopefully) have time to zip over on Friday afternoon and still get back in time for dinner. Now she says, "Oh, that's ok. It doesn't really matter if we get there or not." This is why I don't buy her Christmas gifts until December - what is "GOTTA HAVE" in September is "eh" by Christmas.
Kids.....
Are you going to start singing "Bye Bye Birdie"? :)
I think the canolis are worth the trip. Has she been to NYC before?

Yes, I took her up a few times when she was in high school and she has come up (as an adult) to visit friends who live in NYC and Jersey City. That's another complication - she also wants to get together with these friends over the weekend and we can't make plans until she knows when she's seeing them. Everything is up in the air right now. This will be her first time meeting Mr. Baker and The Baker's Wife, though so she's thrilled.
Howdy Kids!
I don't like that I'm not in the City when Moony is, but I still love that she's going. If that makes any sense. Raise a glass or a cannoli for me, will ya, My Personal Goddess?
Only so much time in a weekend though. Gotta prioritize.
awww, sounds like you kids are going to have a magnificent time.
Oops guess I should update the avatar to something more seasonal.
Gnats was a reference to a post in a thread about an attention seeking, obnoxious, political-comedic, loudmouth blond of a certain political viewpoint. Actually rereading it I am quite proud of it. :)
Kansas! I didn't know you knew Shira so well!

HAHAHA! Wait - Shira's blonde? I haven't read that thread - I'll have to check it out.
Shamey - I always feel the same way when you're in the city and I'm not there. The big city can feel quite empty without you. This, unfortunately, isn't a framily visit since I'm encumbered by two non-framily members and I sort of at the mercy of their agendas - if they collectively come up with an agenda. Just got an email from Mr. Baker inviting us out for drinks after GoC, so at least that's settled.

That, and a sluggish start to it. Bleh. Thank God the weekend's in sight!

very soon, girly!
I am not busy today so far, but it seems a lot of other people in the office are. All the VPs and the like are in the office this week and are in very loud meetings. The rest of us sit here and twiddle our thumbs. Very interesting.
I am counting down the minutes. I would so love to put my head down on this hard, glass-topped desk and snooze.
