Taxes done. One thing I'll say about all that dental work this past year: it's paid off in more ways than one. A lot of it was deductible.

Silver linings are a good thing!
Ours got sent to the accountant finally this past week, which is much later than we normally like. Oh, well.
Nice way to find the bright side, Deet.
Afternoon everyone. Gorgeous day in LA.
As I was making breakfast this morning, this little guy bounced in for some turkey bacon.

I just read this as part of a Times Op-ed about the recent hulabaloo over the health bill. It made me giggle - but also has a point, I think . . .
"Even the optics must be irritating. A woman (Nancy Pelosi) pushed the health care bill through the House. The bill’s most visible and vocal proponents included a gay man (Barney Frank) and a Jew (Anthony Weiner). And the black man in the White House signed the bill into law. It’s enough to make a good old boy go crazy."
Hahahahahahahahahaha! That's perfect!
It's great Q. And also has a point!
If I ever get a parrot, I'm going to name it in your honor, Shira.
Well, you do tell me to stop squawking often enough, I think it's rather appropriate.
That's one thing about you, Shira - you do have a sense of humor about yourself. Usually.
Well usually, yes. I recognize my insane, OCD-like food tendencies and my mild obsession with psychology. Apparently not everyone gets as excited as I about food trucks and grilled cheese competitions.

"my mild obsession with psychology"
Is that the 'mild obsession' that leads to self-diagnosis and medication - while refusing the help of those actually trained in said practices?
Just asking.
No, you're confusing that with my obsession with self-diagnosis, as separate from psychology.
No, I find psychology fascinating, in how we behave, how children make choices, what symptoms and distinctions there are within the diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder, and wondering how you differentiate psychosis on an Axis I and schizophrenia.

There really is no end to your need for defense and obfuscation, is there?
I would normally say, "Your parents must be proud!" - but they don't figure into this, at least according to your most recent stance (stay tuned.)
You know what I meant.
"No, I find psychology fascinating, in how we behave, how children make choices, what symptoms and distinctions there are within the diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder, and wondering how you differentiate psychosis on an Axis I and schizophrenia."
Blah blah blah blah blah
You do realize, Shira dear, that in order to be credible in whatever you choose to do with the above information, career wise, you will have to undergo analysis. There will be no choice. And "self-analysis" is not an option. Not even in Granada.
I think that sentence demonstrates that Shira would be a perfect lawyer.
(From the imperfect lawyer's perspective).

And with that, I now have to clean my keyboard - thanks, YWIW.
Morning all.
Hair was awesome yesterday. I never saw the original cast so i can't compare, but this new cast was pretty good! The beginning of the show was a little weird, but by mid First Act I was hooked. I want to do obscene things to Ace Young. Man, that boy is pretty. Kyle was a good Claude, although once the wig came off, looked 14. The ending was so powerful i had tears. The mezz for the matinee was pretty empty which cant be a good sign. I loved the audience interaction. I got hugged by one tribe member and got to dance with Claude at the very end, hehe.
And, well, Rock of Ages was amazing. Place was packed and I may have been the youngest in the mezz, lol, but that was pretty cool. I didnt have any real crazy annoying people but everyone was having a lot of fun. The Constantine understudy was kick ass, and I love James C. even more! Such a fun show!
Now off to bartending today. Even though I just want to sleep and be lazy. I received a cryptic e-mail from my Dad yesterday and he hasn't called or e-mailed me back, so please cross you fingers that this nauseating paranoia I have right now is just in my head!

Everything crossed, Tink.
And you had TEARS in your eyes?!?!?
You're such a sissy!
Not as big a one as I am, mind you, but you're still a sissy
I'm getting soft in my old age, what can I say? lol

Your old age . . .
And I had just gotten my keyboard cleaned.
:)
No law for me, thanks!
Good morning everyone. I'm off to cook all day for Passover.
Bunch of sissies, all of y'all.
Shira, do you ever think about what you post and the comments you leave yourself open to, starting with "following in your father's footsteps, I see."
The "no law for me"? I'm referring to not going into the law profession, and you know it!
I need a good cry. Maybe I'll put on Homeward Bound later.
Back from taking Zorra and Zander to the vet. I had to corner Zorra room by room to finally get her in the carrier (closets were involved). Zander actually was hanging out in his carrier for the hell of it, but when he saw Zorra protesting so much, he decided to join along for the fun.
Both of their shots are up to date, Zorra's claws are clipped, and I am out $150 for the effort. But, it is done for the year. And, Zorra only cried as if her life were ending on the way to the vet, on the way home the woeful whine was not quite so evident.
I need a shower and a nap, in no particular order,
