Back from Seder. All in all, a nice time - a very diverse group, and many having their first Seder (and many non-Jews). I led the evening, and my biggest job was getting my mom away from her school teacher shtick, where she lectures and lectures about underlying meaning everywhere.

But, even being sober the whole night, it was a nice time.

Okay, so you didn't get into the graduate school of your choice. It sucks, big time. It's not the end of the world.

And you lost in the gene pool lottery when it comes to your parents. Guess what? A lot of us did. It sucks, big time. It's not the end of the world.

So in this sucky situation, SUCK IT UP, GROW UP, take responsibility for yourself and take the plunge into adult land.

And stop with the snarky "can I move in with you Q" types of responses - you're not really making a case for yourself with that kind of answer. If anything, you're pushing those who love you even further away.

fun morning...

Looks like the payroll company f'd up and dated our paychecks for 3/31 instead of 3/30 so no one got paid today. Sounds fishy to me. It's a national payroll company that we've had well over a year. Pay day is always the 30th....it seems odd that they'd suddenly have a slip up now. But it is amusing to see all the people lined up by the accounting/HR offices in angry form.

I'm going to be curious to see what happens with tax returns this year. Last year, Cali didn't have the money to issue refund checks, so they issued 'vouchers' - which many banks, including ours, refused to handle. And now I hear it might happen again - but this time, other states will do it, as well.
