LMAO! No, no, no, I plan on killing her with kindness.
Or just avoiding her completely. Actually, loving her daughter is probably the best revenge.

Mornin'
and, for Girly:
Kill her with kindness, Shamey. J2s mother was a perfect b*tch and I worked very hard - it took about a year (and a trip to a Regis and Kathy Lee taping) but eventually I won her over and we became friends. It's a pain, but it is worth it.

Luckily Moony, mother and daughter do not live together. That really would put a damper on Shames trip.
Hopefully I will recieve the movies I ordered (from a friend) in the mail today/tomorrow being Joop and I will be snowed in all weekend

Posted: 2/4/10 at 9:19amNo, thankfully, she has her own place just far enough away. Not that I expect her mom to be making any unannounced visits when I'm there.

Posted: 2/4/10 at 9:21amThanks, Deet! That's the plan, but she's not making it easy when she's doing everything she can to try to make her daughter feel bad about herself.

Posted: 2/4/10 at 9:22amAre you PLANNING to meet her or planning to avoid her? Is there a dad in the picture? Inquiring minds who keep you in their prayers need to know what and for whom to pray.
#1082Tired Thursday
Posted: 2/4/10 at 9:25amMoony, is that what you are calling your mind these days?

Yeah, J2s mom did the same thing for the first year - but eventually she came 'round. Especially when she saw how happy J2 was. And we had the added advantage that my family took her in as "one of the family." She once made the remark that "D2s family treats me better than my own." Which, unfortunately, was true.
It does take time, and she may never come to terms with the situation. But that won't be because you didn't try, which will be the best thing you can do for The Girl. And yourself.
Didn't mean to lecture. I'll shut up now.

I'm willing to meet her, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. Her dad and mom are still married. He is dealing with everything much better.
Her sister is really excited to meet me and thinks her dad will want to have dinner with us, despite the mom. Should be interesting.

morning!
We all know I had the in-laws from hell, so I have plenty of advice to share but I'll hold back. Trying to do that whole "high road" thing......
but I still stay true to my belief that if I ever marry or become involved again - he's going to be an orphan.

Deet, that didn't sound like a lecture at all!
It's good to hear that these things can turn around. Thanks!

Posted: 2/4/10 at 9:48amShames, you know what I went through...it was the reverse of what you are going through. I think your situation is better off than mine. I know that once the Mom meets you her attitude will change. Remember these are her "issues" and not the girl or yours.

IF she meets me.
But, yes, I know that. It's not me that I'm worried about.
Anywho, enough about that. What else is new?

Morning.
Waiting for my comp tech to show up. I said 10ish, so I should see him by 11. Hopefully. Not the most punctual person I've ever met.
Shamey, we can knock some sense into her if you'd like. That way you still remain the nice, kind one.

Hourly updates will not happen!
But, I'll have my London phone, so I can text the texters and they can relay the updates when there is significant news to report. Otherwise, I'll be busy.

SH, mothers and daugters fighting - not good! I am lucky, my mother in law is fantastic, a bit batty as she gets older, but kind and generous! I have also known her since I was 19!
Today Show update for the day - Peirce Brosnan is a most pretentious twit!
