I just found out that my nephew got orders for Iraq. The anti-war pacifist isn't handling this well - I can't stop crying.

I am sorry Q. For what it is worth, think Iraq right now is safer than Afghanistan. My cousin's husband was deployed for a year, and came back the same crazy SOB as when he left (which may or may not be comforting).

I will keep thinking good (and safe) thoughts for him.

Afghanistan is definitely the hot spot. I'd still prefer he'd stay in Idaho (as much as he hates it.) Actually, I'd prefer he wasn't 'in' at all - but I stood alone in that opinion within our family, as it was easier to let the military provide a set reality than try to help him find one himself.

Oy. And now, I have to drive up next week and spend time with all of them. A real test of just keeping my damn mouth shut.

And we all know how BIG a test that will be

Q, we also love Bernadette, one of my favorite sister moments was seeing Gypsy with Mrs. Brd and my oldest sister.

Speaking of which, the sister (not the oldest) was buried many weeks ago. It was really a long ugly and painful end with a few bright moments. There was an enormous outpouring of grief and support by many. The C's, Mrs. Brd were and are still devastated. C16 has been a great beacon for us as she stood forth as a very present and positive light to many who needed comfort.

I could write a book with so many chapters, but I know that everyone here has written and read the same book! One of my sisters and I laugh at the title - "The Stealing of a Soul." The last chapter would be entitled, "Loyalty". I have learned the definition of that word!

Please DO NOT respond to this post, I would rather not see any more public acknowledgement of this! But, thanks for what I know that many here would say!!!!! Love, Brd.
