I never thought I'd see a production of Bye Bye Birdie that wasn't good...last night proved me wrong. It was the band that brought it down for me...they played everything so damn slow..even "The Telephone Hour" was boring. I must say tho..my niece was tremendous....she has a very sweet voice and her stage presence is wonderful. The part of Kim fit her perfectly. I was very proud of her as usual. She seemed so happy to see me there to..came running down the aisle screaming my name and jumping up and down. We've always had a special bond since she was a baby tho. My other niece (her little sister) was a teenage/townsperson..she screamed and passed out very well...hee hee. The only other performers I enjoyed were Mr.McAfee, Mae and Randolph..the rest bored me to tears. lus it was supposed to start at 7 and didn't start until 7:30...then there was a big accident on the GSP..right by your exit Girly and so they stop us after coming over the bridge where I sat for a good 1/2 hour..didn't get home until almost midnight..ugh.
The thought of your niece running down the aisle yelling "Boobs, Uncle Boobs" just made me giggle.
Morning, all. I'm still sleepy.
yea...I think her other uncle..who is a real boob...was taken back, especially since she just went..HI to him..hee hee

Did she come running down the aisle screaming your name in the middle of the show? that could have livened things up quite a bit!
Hi everyone. The graduation marathon continues with an alumnae luncheon today, but this is an easy one to pull off.
Boobs - my friend, with whom I'm travelling this week, is coming over here @ 2:30 today to make plans. Wish me luck. I may have to call you this afternoon.
Hi shamey and girly and cuz!
Hey Moony! How many days until your summer vacation starts?
Mornin all!
We're just back from SLC.
We took a quick trip down to Pride before going to the airport.

morning all
*the cows skate in with lemonade for all* and wooo traffic is back to normal
*hugs Monny & LS*
Moony...what makes me laugh about this production is that the production company say they're "professional"...kids CAN'T be late for rehearsal even if they're not working on their scenes..they just let them sit there for hours...and they won't allow them to bring homework with them..so they literally just sit there until they are ready for them to rehearse their scenes...they slammed the door in a mother's face one night when she peeked into to see if they were almost finished because it was an hour after they were supposed to be done. Just rude people..and they have like 4 directors..you think at least 1 scene would look good. Their sets were boring...how for that time period someones kitchen would be painted battleship gray is beyond me..oh yea...the shirners number all of a sudden were guys wearing beanies with propellers on them...my EX had to pinch me from laughing out loud. The dance numbers were pathetic..I was proud that my niece could hold her own no matter what was going on around her. When "Lot of Living to do" sounds like a ballard you know something is really wrong. Okay enough of my rant.
Yummie lemonade!
i hope you got your money back boobs!

Morning, all.
We went to that screening of SHOW BUSINESS: THE ROAD TO BROADWAY last night, and enjoyed it immensely. If you get the chance, I'd highly recommend it - she got some tremendous access! And Girly - Euan is featured heavily
I also thought about the adults because it was presented by the actor's fund, so it was yet another chance for old TV vets to come out and be seen. I found Charlotte Rae wandering around in the parking garage lost, and sort of tucked her under my wing to help her find the theatre. When we finally found the elevator, Rose Marie was there in a wheelchair being helped by her assistant. It was the wrong elevator, so we had to keep searching for a way 'out'. I felt like I was in a geriatric version of Laverne and Shirley!
Also in attendance were folks like Donna Mills, Joan Van Ark, Mary Jo Caitlin and so on. My big happiness was chatting with Kate Capshaw (Ms. Spielberg) at the cocktail reception beforehand. She really IS as wonderful as I'd hoped
Oh I love Kate S!
Sounds wonderful DG.
I'm glad you're having some good times Prince D!
morning folks
Charlotte Rae wandering the parking garage. That's a funny and completely unsurprising image.

It was a nice lead-up to the Tony party next Sunday, which is also hosted by the Fund. It promises to be a 'gay old time' with Jerry Herman getting an award, and being hosted by Bruce Vilanch!
Morning DG..Girly and me saw the movie already..we won our tickets through BWW. Even had a talk back with the director, one of the writers of Ave. Q...an actor from Ave. Q and Michael Ridel (sp?..who really cares)
