Moony...what makes me laugh about this production is that the production company say they're "professional"...kids CAN'T be late for rehearsal even if they're not working on their scenes..they just let them sit there for hours...and they won't allow them to bring homework with them..so they literally just sit there until they are ready for them to rehearse their scenes...they slammed the door in a mother's face one night when she peeked into to see if they were almost finished because it was an hour after they were supposed to be done. Just rude people..and they have like 4 directors..you think at least 1 scene would look good. Their sets were boring...how for that time period someones kitchen would be painted battleship gray is beyond me..oh yea...the shirners number all of a sudden were guys wearing beanies with propellers on them...my EX had to pinch me from laughing out loud. The dance numbers were pathetic..I was proud that my niece could hold her own no matter what was going on around her. When "Lot of Living to do" sounds like a ballard you know something is really wrong. Okay enough of my rant.

We went to that screening of SHOW BUSINESS: THE ROAD TO BROADWAY last night, and enjoyed it immensely. If you get the chance, I'd highly recommend it - she got some tremendous access! And Girly - Euan is featured heavily
I also thought about the adults because it was presented by the actor's fund, so it was yet another chance for old TV vets to come out and be seen. I found Charlotte Rae wandering around in the parking garage lost, and sort of tucked her under my wing to help her find the theatre. When we finally found the elevator, Rose Marie was there in a wheelchair being helped by her assistant. It was the wrong elevator, so we had to keep searching for a way 'out'. I felt like I was in a geriatric version of Laverne and Shirley!
Also in attendance were folks like Donna Mills, Joan Van Ark, Mary Jo Caitlin and so on. My big happiness was chatting with Kate Capshaw (Ms. Spielberg) at the cocktail reception beforehand. She really IS as wonderful as I'd hoped
