It's not morbid at all. I make regular visits there. Many times I've stopped off at Costco first and bought huge bunches of flowers. Then I look for the 'forgotten' grave sites. Spanish-American war graves are in an old area that floods regularly. None of those vets have families alive who remember them and visit their graves. So each gets a flower.
Take the guided tour - it's fascinating seeing how many famous folks are now resting there. You see an acre of those matching white headstones - with no single one standing out from the hundreds (thousands) of others. And there - right in the midst of them and looking exactly like the rest - is the gravesite of Lee Marvin. It's just amazing, and peaceful (honestly) and so very, very sad.
