More good news!!! My son who as many of you know is now in the Air Force, has a few days off before his new assignment in CA, so he can come home for a visit! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!

where is he being based? my hubby was based in CA years ago, and so was my dad oddly enough. They were both based at the same camp on the same base like 40 years apart. they were on Camp Pendleton

He is in the Air Force and will be stationed at Vandenberg. He's in Public Affairs, so he is actually a lot safer than the other soldiers in the war. Rather bit of fun is that he has always loved airplanes and in our old neighborhood the C-5As would fly right over our house. It was almost destiny that he'd be in the USAF (the closest he could get to the Jedi Academy!)

rofl about the Jedi Academy. When my mom was growing up, she says that they used to fly the planes straight over her house. Eventually, they actually found out that the pilots were using their two chimneys to line up for the runway (they met one of the pilots). At one point, one of the planes was so low (it was in trouble) that the vibrations knocked one of their chimneys off. The military had to replace their chimney
