My brother and I both got to pick our own. He picked Carl after Carl Yazstremski, because he wanted the C for our dad's middle name, but didn't want the actual name!
I went with plain, old Elizabeth.

I only used my confirmation name on my grammar school diploma.
i think I only used it during my confirmation.

Gee. I never got a confirmation. What name would I have been given?
I was luck I got to pick my name! (if I had taken my godmothers' name it would have been Helene... ewww!) But I did have to write a long paper (30 some odd pages) on why Joan of Arc was the saint I wanted to emulate.

Oh, CUTE. Nice job, Mom!
Thank you! (but come on now that was rather easy!)
It didn't even cross my mind, so you're way ahed of me.
all I had to do for confirmation was attend some food banks, work a special olympics, do a few other selfless acts, and go to the yearly over night retreat. That was it. No papers or anything.

Speaking only for myself, I appreciate it when it's easy . . .
I should have seen that one coming!
My internal bell rang. Later, Kids!
The reason I had to write a paper was because I was in the hospital for surgery on my back and the rehab time after made all those this quite difficult. So a visit from the bishop and a couple of letters from my parish priests voila! I was confirmed with my class.
