My confirmation name is Theresa and my mom picked it. I wanted to pick either Veronica or Betty. I figured there probably wasn't a Saint Betty but I thought the odds were good for a St. Veronica. Someone decided there wasn't so I had to change it. I couldn't think of anything so Mom picked Theresa.

We were questioned by the Bishop. Just general stuff he'd ask the whole class and whoever had the answer would raise their hand and impress their parents. I was more worried about the slap. We were all told the Bishop was going to slap us. I thought we might get slugged and knocked off the altar steps! I was first to go and I suppose he made some gesture of touching the cheek to stand for a slap but I honestly don't remember it. I think the nuns got some sick satisfaction out of scaring us kids!
