Deet..I love when you think you have everything and all of a sudden the contractors hands you a receipt from Home Depot of things he "had to pick up"...or when you explain he is going over budget and he tells you to return the shower door you already bought and buy this other one that's "only" $50 more and then he says he made a mistake and it's actually $350 more. Well it stops here. He works for me and it's either my way or the highway now!

I hired him at a set rate per day. All of a sudden he is telling me I need to add a certain amount more because he had to get help doing something and has to pay the person. OR adding $30 one day because he borrowed his friends truck and had to put gas in it. He keeps reminding me that it saved me money from renting a dumpster.

I feel your pain, Boobs, I really, really do. Any kind of renovation is a f*cking nightmare; bathroom renos seem to be even worse.

I swear my kitchen renovation was a breeze. I wish I would have used the same contractor. He worked his butt off. I saw the work he did every day when I got home from work. This one supposedly worked 6 hours on Friday and I still can't figure out what he did. UGH!!!

We renovated our bathrooms before the rest of the apartment. The experience was such an enervating nightmare that it took 3 years before we had the strength to even consider the rest of the apartment. We hired a different contractor that time, and that reno was a comparative breeze.
The kitchen will be the next and last renovation we do. Not looking forward to it, but hopefully it won't be as bad as the bathrooms. Most of that reno is going to be cosmetic, so no really difficult issues, like moving/changing plumbing and gas lines will be involved, like they were when we did the first kitchen reno when we moved in.

That is what truly annoys me, Deet. I didn't move any of the plumbing. As far as electricity, I only added one high hat over the shower. These guys have some racket going. My bathroom is so small that this should have been done by now...even with the power outage. Oh yea, he only worked last Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Wednesday and Thursday he went to finish another job he had.

Ugh, I'm having a hard enough time just CLEANING my bathrooms today.
I went to clean a light fixture over the sink and the bulb fell out leaving the metal screw head piece in the fixture and I was acting as if I needed to hire an electrician and a remodeling crew.

'Morning, all! I actually labored on Labor Day. We have a lot of meetings and such this week, culminating with our huge Mixer dance on Friday night. It was nice to have peace and quiet in the office yesterday to do the prep work.

Moony - back in the office. We were finally able to get back in on Friday for a bit. Spent a few hours getting my office back hooked up so today shouldnt be AS miserable as it could be, lol.
It was horrrrible this weekend driving around my towns and seeing all the destruction and mounds of garbage out on the curbs. Some of my bar customers lost everything. The water was 4' high in their bedrooms.
Though the president did drive right past my bar on Sunday during their picnic so they kinda felt special. I was just pissed at all the traffic delays.
