Getting ready for one of my 3 annual Jewish concessions to my mom.
Going to the end of Yom Kippur services and then to dinner.
The other two are Passover (which Q, D2 and J2 wonderfully got to share in this past year) and the Yartzeit (anniversary) of my dad's death.
It used to repeatedly tell my dad that organized religion (as opposed to faith in general) was a tool of the devil - 3 stories, 1 ending, let's kill each other over who got the ending right.
So, this is something to get through. Hopefully there will be alcohol at dinner.

'Morning! Sitting here in my Pjs, sipping my second cup of coffee and leisurely going through the newspapers. This seems SO wrong.
Boobs - YWIW had a nice weekend - she celebrated with her mom AND she got engaged to a gay man and an elderly woman.

Morning.
Very uneventful weekend, though I did start watching Parks & Recreations.

Uneventful can be very nice. It's a good time to exhale and let go of the stress.
Unless you have a cat.

WOW, it seems YWIW had a very exciting weekend!
My weekend was nice. The gulioscopy went as well as expected. I have to see the doctor in 8 weeks when the results are back. Had a lovely dinner yesterday with an old colleague and his partner.

Word!
The mall opens in a half hour. I may make that my focus of the day. Well, that and making apple butter.

The wedding is off - we could not agree on the registry.
But it was nice while it lasted!
Dinner was fine with mom - except, as always, it ends with the plea "why can't we do this every week." Now, my younger sister is coming in for a couple of days (who is allergic to gluten, to bring this conversation full circle).
Happy Monday all.

My sister is bringing supplies, but I honestly don't do much gluten to begin with. Luckily, both sprouts and Trader Joe's have a lot of gluten free stuff.
But it would be much more fun to have Mooney come out!

Morning.
I'm also sitting here having coffee... just sitting.
Looking at my long list of things I SHOULD be doing.
But, right now I'm just sitting.
I was in the grocery store yesterday and they've set up an entire section of gluten-free products.
I bought Honeycrisp apples yesterday. YUM! More expensive, but a treat I allow myself each Fall. Yum, yum, yum.

I love honeycrisp apples. They are my favorite. Sometimes Costco carriers them, and then I do a wee happy dance.
No play day for me. Off to work shortly. Addy, you deserve a day of relaxing and just doing a whole bunch of nothing.
I just found this not too far from me. My sister should be happy.

ooh - I should look into Costco. Good idea!
Oh, we all deserve a day of relaxing!
(But I really am so far behind on 'life' stuff... I SO need to get motivated to get these projects done!)
I got an iPad yesterday. Will probably spend more time today than I should in the App store.

Posted: 10/10/11 at 10:49amI think I will finally get one this holiday season. I have iPad envy, and am too cheap to cure it!

I was finally 'sold' when I was in Chicago for meetings last week, and everyone in the conference room had one, in lieu of a laptop... and there was a lengthy discussion of apps.
I was a holdout for a while, but, the portability and the ease of use finally sold me on it. Now I have iPhone envy... so need to make that leap, too.
