Thanks DD
The rug actually was a gift from a friend whose father had to get rid of stuff in his house. He offered, and after getting it cleaned, it turned out beautiful.
It is about 40 years old, and the colors are great. I was lucky!

I'll wait (patiently) for the personal tour.
papa - behave.
DG- Your new avatar made me bust out laughing.
I adore you!
like papa ever listens
That is part of his charm!
Happy New Year Tink. What did you end up doing?
Same to you, YWIW!
I ended up going into NYC. It was enjoyable.

YWIW - sometimes, the choices are obvious.
This would be one of those times.
Tink - did you actually do the Times Square thing? I did that once. Wasn't really fond of people throwing up on me.
That's why I did it ONCE.
oh no no, DG. You should know already that I have no tolerance for people, let alone a crowd like that. I'd be in jail or the hospital! A friend of mine lives on 35th, so we got to be there but far enough from the crazies. We could hear it all, that was pretty cool, watching the tv broadcast and hearing it in like stereo!

That actually sounds like a good time, Tink.
Except for the commute, of course.
Especially when you have to wait for someone to get ready
haha, yeah, but he's like no matter where we are going!
Commute was suprisingly not bad. We parked in Hoboken and took the Path in and out. It was no more crowded then normal Christmas shopping season, just a bit drunker. The craziest commute into the city I have ever experienced was for the 98 yankee's world series parade. Now that was one packed train full of many drunk people!!
Evening all! Hope all is well, and also hoping everybody had a fun (and safe) New Years Eve. Happy 2008 all.
I have a feeling Stoli read papa's posts -
You can see he is not amused...
That's a lovely picture, YWIW.
He looks a bit pissed.
Here, is before he understood the implications of papa's post ...
This one is a bit nice, with them both...
They seem to have made themselves at home quite happily.
Morning peeps !!! Happy 2008 !!! Coffee and tea are on today. YES I need tea today...funky sinus thingy going on...just what I need 5 days before an 18 hour flight..jeez. Hopefully I'll feel better in a couple of days.
There just happened to be some more champers in the fridge. Enjoy!

Hope everyone's 2008 is off to a good start.
Good Morning all and a very happy '08 to you all.
Mornin'.
I'm with ya, Tink and Moony. So don't want to go to work today.
Some of us have already been here for two hours. I'm already SICK, SICK, SICK of hearing all the cubicle chatter about what they did over the holidays. SHUT UP!
I think I need a few down days to recover FROM the "holidays"!
Mornin', All.
At least it's already Wednesday.
