Well in NJ we call it winter too, but I am just not used to it being such a day to day thing. Last winter we really didn't see much white stuff....in the form of snow at least.

In all the years I've been treking to NYC in the winter, I've never magaed to be there when it was snowing. Slush, yes, snow, no. I'd love to stand in Central Park and watch a gentle snowfall. Maybe this year....

What is especially magical about snowfall is the hush that envelopes the city. All the sounds are muted, and it actually becomes almost peaceful.
