I remember going to NY one day and it had been snowing for a couple of hours when I got there. Normally I take the subway from Penn Station to whereever I'm staying but that day I just had to walk. It was WONDERFUL. Like you said - the silence is amazing. Big, wet flakes falling gently and no wind... It was perfect!

(Moony - I'm going on 1/11 for the weekend. Why don't you plan on that weekend and we can both hope for just enough snow to have fun in. NO MORE THAN THAT!)

Can I just say how happy I am that it's Friday?

Yes, you may, Addy - and I bet you get some people who agree with you!

Oh - me too Addy. I think this might have been the longest week in the year. And the snow/ice/freezing cold just made it worse. I'm off work today but I have to go to the store for Christmas exchanges (already!) and then I have to go downtown for some Smithsonian stuff. All I want to do is stay inside.

Mamie - I'm checking on January dates as we "speak". The 4/5 is easier for me becasue we're still on Semester Break. I was aiming for December, and may still pop in for a day, but I have a dear friend in Conn. who is on life support and I may have to run up there, so everything is on hold.

And yes, TGIF! (except that I have to work tomorrow night)

The big record-breaking snowfall about a year (or two? time flies...) ago was amazing. I spent the day in Central Park with friends - taking pictures and just being part of a community of people who wanted to enjoy the snow and the event of it all!

It was so peaceful - with everyone just enjoying the wonder of the city wrapped in a blanket of white.

I still have some shopping to do, which I hope to finish up this weekend.

When things seem to be really out of hand with stress and things to do, I just stop and look at all of the lights and go to the tree at Rockefeller Center. And remind myself that I ADORE NYC this time of year. I simply adore it.

I have NEVER met Cheyenne Jackson. I have never hung out with him in his dressing room, he did not tweet me, he never bought me a beverage, and he mostly certainly didn't tickle me. . .that is all.
