Good for you - stand your ground! Part of your immense lovability is that you are your own person and don't buckle under pressure.

thanks, Rath. I think he's getting that now.
DGG - my best friend doesn't drink and whenever we go out there is always someone who needs to have a debate with her about it because they just can't understand it. Just keep being you and that is all that matters.
**moony hugs**
DGG, I feel very fortunate that I don't have the taste/desire for much in the way of alcohol. It could have easily gone another way - my dad was an alcoholic. He died at age 67 of liver cancer. My sister seems to have inherited that gene. My brother actually realized he was heading in that direction at an early age and although he still drinks, it's not excessive and he is aware of his consumption. I'm very proud of him. :)

It isn't as if I judge anybody on their drinking. I really don't care if anyone drinks. It's a personal decision. I just wish they'd all leave me alone, lol!
Exactly, DGG - you don't judge them, so why should they judge you?
Hell, we loved folks like you when we were younger - a designated driver without worries. I have a few friends who do not drink, some because they don't like it, and some because they have had very bad reactions to alcohol. Whether or not someone drinks should not even be a factor.
Seriously, don't let them pressure. Drinking is way over-rated. Have fun however you want to!
The cows dash in with hugs for rath
DGG - You're awesome. End of story.

DGG, keep away from the booze! We are betting that our 15 year old daughter never drinks. She is very critical of drunkeness. The 13 year old on the other hand, lock up the cabinet!
Kids are out and we are out to dinner soon. Focusing on our marriage! It's has been a crazy week of Mrs. Brd acting like a teen and me acting like a freak. Relationships take work, but all worth it!
Love you too, Tinkaletto!! I have no idea where they came from.
God, I feel like I've been awake for a week.

So, had a perfectly wonderful evening with the adult - Shira - that chose to communicate and participate.
Have no idea what else occurred on the left coast, as communication seems to have ceased.
But, I coose to live with what I am given, not what I desire - so I had a wonderful evening.
Mornin'
Deet, could you make that coffee appear in my kitchen? Set the pot up this morning, and nothing. NOTHING!! It's dead.
Edited cause I can't process well without coffee.

Sorry DG -
We had a wonderful time at 9-5 - which was a lot of fun and should do wonderfully well in NY, and then had a very leisurely, early dinner at Patina at Disney Hall.
One of Miss P's friends knew Stephanie, so we actually got to go back stage and meet Stephanie for a moment (as well as eyeball a few other folks or comment on performances - I commented that it felt like an Obama rally back there).
It was really a lovely time, and Scott was quite surprised! I knew you had plans to go to Canter's early and then a show, so I figured there was no way to match up the two teams!
MWAH!

I'm an adult! Scandalous, I tell you. We had a marvelous evening of talking and later on, lovely diva-licious performances.
Scandalous indeed!
You saw Patti? How did you get tickets?
She was part of the benefit concert we were at. The crowd went NUTS.
Seems like we all had cool evenings :)
Oh, and I have an addiction to medjool dates. Yum.
Huh. Well, whatever works.
Not much of a dates gal myself.
I had some odd lychee sorbet with dessert last night. That was odd.
But watermelon, well, I am good with watermelon.
I'm just good with melons. I love fruit.

YWIW - sorry to sound so bitchy I actually thought you might not have even participated since you didn't feel well - hope it means you're doing better!
And by 'the crowd went nuts', I think Shira meant me - I can get a little excited
