Just got home. Right after I posted that the electricity went off for good. I opened my office door and yelled, "God called. He said to go home NOW." An office secretary actually pipped up and said, "Well, I can still do some filing." Will the young never learn??????
Traffic lights out all over the county. Glad tarffic is light due to the holiday weekend.
Glad you got home ok, moonie.
Hi DG, DD, and Moony!
Moony - I'm glad you are alright.
DG - We have had intense thunderstorms most evenings this week, but we weren't affected by Ernesto too much at all. It kind of skipped from Florida - out to sea - and then to the Carolinas. Our weekend is supposed to be beautiful starting tomorrow - mid 80s for highs and 60s for lows. I'll be headed up to my Alma Mater for the first football game of the season tomorrow.
Hm... just pulled up our weather... how's this for weather variances...
Today: High 78, Low 48 (granted, temp is already 84, so that 78 is bogus)
Tomorrow: High 85!, Low 55
Sunday: High 90!!!, Low 48

DD - you're such a wimp
Jungle - sounds fun. For some reason, I have a quote from Miss Jean Brodie running through my head - "For people who like that sort of thing, that's the sort of thing they like."
Moony - sounds like hunker-down weather to me! I see videos and wine in your future.
I have never denied that I am a heat wuss.
But also, to go from 90 to 48 in a day... layers, I know.
DD - You'll need your speedos for the daytime on Sunday and your sweater at night!
DG - I am intrigued by what Cynthia Nixon will do with her interpretation of the Miss Jean Brodie character onstage this season. Will Dame Maggie approve??
Oh dear... you don't want to see me in Speedos. No one does.

I haven't seen Ms. Nixon live, but from what I've heard, she's got the chops. I'd certainly be willing to see her give it a go. I just hate, hate, HATE the end of that play/movie, though. I can't stand that that little bit*h seems to win!
Well, we shall see what Miss Cynthia can do. I thought she turned in a phenomenal performance in "Rabbit Hole".

I saw the first public reading of RABBIT HOLE. On the one hand, I thought it a little too much 'movie-of-the-week' in structure and content. BUT, I do remember thinking and feeling that each character was absolutely real and believable on the page - and from what I heard, Ms. Nixon and Ms. Daly absolutely captured that element completely. I'll look forward to the responses to Brodie.
I think she's excellent personally. I'm going to borrow my friend's copy of "Rabbit Hole".
Have a great weekend, All!
Aww, thanks jungle! I hope you have a marvelous weekend yourself
*hugs to jungle*
Yesterday was the first day of Spring here. It turned out to be a gorgeous day.
I hope your weather over there settles down very quickly.
