Everybody keeps telling me what a wonderful town Portland is, but I haven't gotten there yet. I imagine it's a little more special right now
You'd love it, DG.
Is it my imagination or is it slightly cooler in NYC? Maybe I'm just so used to it that I don't even notice?
Glad you're having such a wonderful week, Glebb!
When I was in Portland for a wedding..it rained the whole weekend, but I did stay at a great hotel called The Kennedy School....it was an old school that they converted into a hotel. The bedrooms still had blackboards in them for you to write on...and one of the bars was the detention hall where you were allowed to smoke. It really was a lot of fun staying there.
:) = DG.
Portland is gracefully beautiful.
I'm very lucky to have made this trip.
The Northwest Professional Dance Project is a very good idea and the producers have gathered an excellent assortment of captivating artists.
*edit* for Addy and Boobs -
Your hotel sounds adorable Boobs.
Glad it's cooling off slightly in NYC, Addy!
Boobs, I remember when you stayed there! You posted about it.
Glebb, I'm so glad this trip has been so fulfilling for you.

Boobs - I LOVE the sound of that - what fun!
Glebb - are you doing classwork for students in the area?
I've been teaching "company class" each morning for the participants. It's a three week project but I can only be here the first week. I am impressed with the level of talent and the work being done. These teenagers and young adults are working their butts off from 9am until 6:30 - six days a week. All kinds of interesting choreographers are either teaching choreography or actually creating new work on them. There are public performances at the end of the three weeks. Oh and yes DG, I taught a 2 hour master class for locals yesterday in addition to "company class".
Glebb, it sounds wonderful.

Excellent! And I understand that you feel lucky to participate - but I'd also say they're lucky to hve you
I'll second that!
Wonderful indeed!
When each and very dancer is compelling the class giver is excited about each and every class. This would be what we call a satisfactory arrangement. :)
That sounds more than satisfactory!
That sounds richly rewarding for all involved.
Well said Addy!
Well done, Glebby!

Thank goodness for those who perpetuate the arts, and those that continue to pursue them. I firmly believe that it cannot 'die' - the human impulse to create and share experience is too strong. But, BOY does it seem to be a weak voice in the distance sometimes.
Thank you, Glebb, for being one who elevates our society as a whole.
Have a great weekend, Yall! Off to FL. for a few days!
Glebby heads to the shower with stars in eyes.
Thanks for your support Addy and DG!
Glebby have fun in Portland...there's a great bbok store there too that I got lost in...but I do that in all book stores...but this one is floors and floors of books !!! If you get a chance you should stop by the Kennedy School..people go there to hang out and drink..not just for the guests.
*blows kisses to Addy & DG*
Powell's Boobs. I'm staying across the street.
Blows kisses to all!
Glebb, have a wonderful day!
Jungle! Have a great trip to Florida!

DG, I've been involved in a strategic planning process for the Chorale the last few months. It's been fascinating crafting our vision, mission statement and trying to identify the colors of the spectrum of the vocal arts which we want to embrace, perform and preserve. The collaborative process with some of the most creative people in the artistic community in NYC has been a privilege and extremely rewarding.

Have great classes, Glebb.
Have a safe and relaxing trip, Jungle - and happy birthday to the celebrant!
Boobs - have you ever been to The Tattered Cover in Denver? It's my favorite bookstore.
Goodmorning - Got the call this AM to come over to my daughters because she was going to the hospital. Now it's the waiting game. Hopefully it will go quickly. It's her third child but the first with her new husband. They have yours, mine, and ours! Will keep you posted!
