Pink.

Roberta Flack is on Martha Stewart singing "Killing Me Softly".
That's one of my most favorite songs...
strumming my pain with his fingers...
those lyrics...

Roberta is absolutely one of my favorite artists EVER! Her "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" is the most beautiful love song. I need to reacquire the albums I have of hers on CD.
Smoking is bad, 'mmk?
Talk about killing yourself softly!
I did that a few years ago, DG. Bought up every single one I could find.
Her voice, her music, her lyrics...
Though of course, I hear the Fugees version more often than I hear the real version...

Cookie - just one LITTLE corner of the rose garden at the Huntington.
Just so you know.
Just in case . . .
...I don't love that version.
Her album 'Set the Night to Music' is amazing...
Beautiful, DG.
DG: Oh, I remember the Rose Garden at Huntington just starting it's season to bloom in early June about three years ago. And thought it just gorgeous!
Addy: Ah, but that version did lead me to the superior original by Ms. Flack. But first impressions have me doing odd associations.

The Rose Garden Tea Room at the Huntington.
Someday, Addy - we simply MUST!
We shall!
As long as it led you to the original, Cookie.
The beauty of a cover or a sample is that it always leads one back to the original. And makes you realize why it was covered or sampled!
True.
...and it IS fun to hear how others cover a song, or re-mix it...

And then there are artists who redo their old material, and elevate it into the heavens - Joni Mitchell, "Both Sides Now" - perfection.
Roberta Flack...one of my faves...hello smokers.
Chapter Two is one of the best albums ever recorded, imo.
That song is perfectio, DG.
I noticed Jaily stopped by.
Hi, Doodle!
It's hard to think of a Roberta Flack album I don't like...

Oh my...Donny's voice is one of god's greatest creations.
DG, I have had a sad time trying to find a recording of Song to Aging Children, written by Joni and featured in Alice's Restaurant. It is one of the most haunting songs I've ever heard.
I was just reading the banal thread (don't laugh, it amuses me!) and someone mentioned having a dream about BWW. That jogged my memory that I had one last night about BWW!! I only remember Boobs and Shira being there, though.
Our fingerprints don't fade from the lives we touch.
Puppies are babies in fur coats.
Tinfoil...The Terrorizing Terminator
doodle - that song is completely haunting! Have you not been able to find it?
Girly... I'm sure there were lots of laughs in the dream.
I remember snuggling into the pillow, groggily telling myself that I have to stop reading BWW before I go to bed!

BWG, I felt so hip today. I borrowed one the kid's MP3 player and listened to Rent on the train today!
