Not to change subjects (but to do so anyway):
I got the book "Gotham" for Christmas. A Pulitzer Prize winning history of NYC from pre-Dutch to 1898. Over 1,300 pages - and that's with very small print! I LOVE IT. Can't put it down - even lugged it up to NYC yesterday to read on the train. Great section on the development of theatre in the city, too.
Seriously, Moony, just move here and get it over with already.

Tee-hee. I couldn't afford that city even if it were at 1898 prices!
So you read while the hubby slept....sounds familiar.

Actually, he was grading papers - 8 on the trip up, 6 on the trip back. We made sure we got seats in the "quiet car". LOVE that concept!
That's why I take the bus into work and home...everyone just falls asleep....our train is too noisy.
Finally downstairs with my first cup of coffee. Didn't go to bed until 3ish this morning. One Night Only accompanied my dreams last night.
I finally watched Friday's The View in the wee hours of the morning. Towards the end Rosie was talking with an 11 year old girl she had met a while ago. The girl has CF and Rosie was asking her to explain it, etc. Turns out the girl's fav show is Rent. She couldn't remember the number of times she's seen it. Rosie said since it's their year-end show why don't we sing a little bit of Seasons of Love, so Rosie and the girl started singing. As the little girl is singing, the cast of Rent is coming out from behind both sides of the stage towards them. Since her back was to them, the girl didn't realize at first. As they came up behind them, the girl started sensing them. The look on her face!
Rosie got up and gave her seat to Frenchie and went into the audience leaving the girl up there singing the rest of the song with them. She just kept looking back and forth, like she couldn't believe this was actually happening. The cameras occasionally panned her parents in the audience, who were also a bit emotional. Needless to say, I was verklempt right along with them. I'm such a sap. I love stuff like that.

Hiya, DG! Hope you and the Tin Man had a great Christmas!
As cool (and intimidating, for me anyway) it would be to sing with the JB, we are so lucky to have so much exposure to these guys, that I don't think it could compare to the experience that girl had. I was so thrilled for her.
Mushmellow. That's me.

HEY DG....hope you and Pop had a lovely Christmas...now mine would be better if that whole Jersey Boy thing happened..of course without Girly on the stage with us...she could go sing with her Scottish boy instead.

We did, indeed have a lovely Christmas. They have a gorgeous new home (well, new to them - it's a lovingly restored Edwardian from 1936) - very stately and gracious. Fabulous food and wonderful time in the city. Then we followed them down to Santa Cruz to see their property down there, and had another lovely time visiting - we stayed at a great place on the cliffs overlooking the bay. They're very happy to be back in Cali - and we're very happy to have playmates in San Francisco!
And now, off to see our old friends in Arizona, and ring in the new year with them and my parents
Have a great time, DG. Safe travels!

DG - It sounds like you did have a wonderful time with your friends! Have fun in Scottsdale! The last time I was in the Phoenix area I stayed at a lovely old hotel called The Biltmore. I really enjoyed that resort - very Frank Lloyd Wright- and our little sojourn to see the Red Rocks in the Sedona area.
Hi Girly! All is fine here today. I am working, but at a leisurely pace. :) How are things in your world??
Pretty good, jungle. Off from work this week, and taking it easy. Meeting up with some friends tonight. Looking forward to that.
