i would think the same thing could happen if you go to a teller, no? in my 18 years of atm banking, i've never had a problem depositing money thru MAC. and one time, i tricked it into giving me a $100 loan for the weekend...

I use it all the time. Have for YEARS.

And it's even more vital now - my job is way downtown, so I can't pick up my check from the agency at lunchtime, I have to pick it up at night and deposit it then.

I love direct deposit. I hardly ever have to deposit actual money/checks, unless someone is paying me back for something.

Well when I get a real job, hopefully I'll be able to do that again.

When I worked at Pfizer, I had direct deposit AND a branch of my bank IN THE BUILDING. *wistful sigh*

I love direct deposit too... don't understand why people who have it available to them don't use it. (I understand you don't, Rath, but I have friends and co-workers who refuse to do it.)

I hardly ever go to the bank... and I hate commercial banks. I've had a credit union since I've been in the U.S.

I have a friend who won't get EZPass because he doesn't want anyone tracking him....I asked him if he was in the witness protection program or something that I'm not aware of.

DD, I've also had people tell me their reasoning was that it could get lost in processing or somehow messed up.

Of course, we know you don't need direct deposit for that to be a worry.
