By the way - I'm in mourning. My PC completely gave up the ghost on Friday. I think I got all the data files copied before it died but I lost my bookmarks and a lot of programs. I'm not going to replace it. (At least not for a while). This laptop will have to be my sole cyber source for a long while...

DD, I don't know how I would've felt if no one called me on my b-day. I think a major pity party would've been thrown. Thank goodness you all only waited a week to celebrate him!

He's funny... he whined about it to his best friend, who was obviously in on it... it was her and I that were supposed to take him out. His partner also said he was pissed no one called. It was funny. Made it worth it. I'm eveil, I know...

Morning Moony. Yes..remembering all that was lost 5 years ago today...and me running as the 1st tower that fell chased me down the street. The sites and sounds that I will NEVER forget.

I know, Boobs. I started reading that thread about 9/11 remembrances and I couldn't get very far. It's still too fresh.

Today is a cloudy, gray day here in DC. Very unlike the beautiful weather of September 11, 2001 - a gorgeous, sunny day.

It was a beautiful day..I remember by the time I got off the island (4 hours)I had sunburn on my face. Today is turning out to be a beautiful sunny day here again.

My Aunt and I were driving back from Elmira, NY after spending a weekend with my brother and his wife. Prior to leaving, she and I had a huge blow-up, which pretty much severed our relationship. We left about 8:30. I was going through music withdrawal and had put a CD on. Around 9:10 or so, I figured my aunt didn't want to listen to my music and switched over to the radio. That was when we first heard what was going on. I was trying to call friends to find out more, but of course had no service. We stopped somewhere in Pennsylvania to get something to eat and the waitress was filling us in. We started hearing sirens and she came back and told us about the Shanksville plane. Turns out we weren't that far from there at that point. I managed to get through to my friends, and they told me there was talk of closing some of the major highways to regular traffic. I just wanted to get home, which we finally did about 2ish. Spent the rest of the day glued to the t.v.

Two years later to the day, my Aunt passed away. Heard from my brother and sister in law that night for the first time since 9/11/01. Strange how things work out.
