Starina just asked me who Greg is playing in Billy Elliott (because one of its songs just played on the Showtunes channel). "The dad," I answered. Little Sir chimed right in, "The MEAN one?"

J2 is right - one of these days I'm going to be killed.

We were already on the east side tonight because we went to our favorite place to buy cheese, so we decided to finish our shopping at the Gourmet Garage on Park and 96th, and then take a cab home.

So you know how there is always that one person in a store who, no matter what you do, is always in your way, always where you need to be, and always chattering away mindlessly on their cellphone?

(I can hear the "uh ohs")

Well, she ran over my foot with her cart and didn't even stop to say "oops." I couldn't resist, so I said to her "Excuse me, it isn't all about YOU, Self-Involved East Side Woman!"

Luckily J2 wasn't anywhere near me otherwise he would have killed me himself. And also luckily, I guess, S-IESW didn't even realize I was talking to her, she kept chattering away as she grabbed items off the shelves.

This ought to be good for his career. There are a lot of people who don't think he can do anything but comedy. From what I've read about the demanding auditions, he must have really sold the creative team on his ability to do this part. I understand that they tried to get an American actress to play the mother and they weren't satisfied with any of them. So they sent for the actress who played it in England.

On a related note, Little Sir was telling me about his (potential) new 1st grade teacher who came to visit with his kindergarten class. "Is she pretty?" I asked. His face lit up and he enthusiastically said, "YES!" and then very quickly added, "Not as pretty as you though!"

I see what I see, and I think you are incredibly attractive. I know that only goes so far from the given perspecitve (biology being what it is) - but I am ALLOWED the perspective!
