A terrible and tragic Saturday here in Victoria. It appears that dozens have lost their lives and hundreds their properties in the bushfires burning across our state, fanned by extreme temperatures and gale force winds.
This sort of day tends to puts things into perspective. Sorry to be a downer.

Hep - so sorry to hear about that. We here in the Southwest US empathize completely - and it DOES put things in perspective, as so many things like that do.
Good morning. I'm off to tour New York with my cousin Cille who came in from Denmark!
However, I do have one gripe. I woke up in awful back pain, so UGH!
Great opening night. Now to get rid of this cold ...
Feel better, sweet DQ!!

GH, that is tragic!
We had a great night - fun dinner with two friends and then we went to a GAY bar. (Q, DD and D2 - are you proud?) I kid you not that Mrs. Brd was hit on by the only other "straight" guy there! Regardless, we had much silliness!

hello all. rare weekend appearance here. We have 140 girls auditioning for performing arts scholarships today. we're on a much needed lunch break!
Brd - I'm sure you've heard the tale of the night DD was in NYC and we were celebrating SOMMS's birthday. They took our group to a gay bar in the Village and all the women got hit on by a very drunk gay man. He totally ignored the very handsome SOMMS and went "straight" for the women (this is how we knew he was drunk). He finally settled on feeling up Rath - the one lesbian in the crowd. Boy, was HIS gaydar impaired! Now whenever anyone says to me, "Well, at least you won't get hit on in a gay bar", I beg to differ.

We don't send our letters out until February 26. Many of these girls are so talented - one even plays the harp! I haven't seen (heard) that in years. We could fill two instrumental ensembles just with today's applicants alone. The vocal talent is also quite strong. The acting auditions always remain the weakest.
Break over - back into the theater. I hear it's beautiful outside.

It was a gorgeous day today, I sure had fun!
Wow, getting to really know my cousin after, oh, 13 years! We've changed a bit, but what's fascinating is how alike we are, even if we're 3rd cousins.
"He's Not That Into You" was definitely cute, if not great. A little too, "let's imitate 'When Harry Met Sally'" for me.

I've been reading about the fires in Australia, and ran across this comment:
". . . burned fleeing residents alive in their cars"
That happened in San Diego a couple of years ago, as well. I simply can't imagine trying to drive to safety, and being chased down by flame. Simply horrifying.
My thoughts are with all those affected by this.
That's just petrifying, Q.
Good morning everyone. I'm off to work!
Wow. That is scary.
It's 57 freakin degrees here right now. I LOVE it!! Windy as all hell, but who cares, it's warm!

Heaven today!
I can't get to CT, as I had hoped, but have my windows open and plan to get out later.
ENJOY!
It's gorgeous today. And I'm inside, naturally.
Cloudy day here in SoCal - rains been coming and going. But no real complaints, as we desperately need the water.
Hep, I hope things settle down, I was reading accounts of what is going on, and it is heartbreaking. It does remind me of what happened a few years ago in SoCal.
I desperately need the coffee I'm drinking!
Hi YWIW!
Hey Shira!
How was the first few days of work for you?
All settled in a ready to go?
By the way, here are some new pics of the Spawn of Satan when he is apparently suffering from low sugar.
One, playing nice with Zorra:
And another, just all squishable:
His coat is darkening. So who knows what he will look like in a few more months.
So cute. I wuv furry lovey animals. I want one.
As for settling in, sorta kinda. I have more training to do "in club", and I'm not set up tech wise yet, so today will be bunches of BWW-ing and coffee and looking busy and professional.
Sounds like a real job to me!
Hopefully, when you come back to LA, you can see his furry bad-ass self.
Have you thought of getting a pet?
LOL, YWIW. I suppose it is.
I have thought of getting a pet, but I wouldn't be home enough to love him or her and that wouldn't be fair. Stupid kitty allergy. Otherwise I'd get one already!
That is why I went to cats years ago. My old place was a second floor condo, and I just did not have time for all the walking - plus, I did not want to have to worry about barking bothering neighbors.
So, instead, I have ended up with cats, that seem like dogs.
Off to do my Sunday TJ shopping. Have a great afternoon Shira.
