"What was the excuse of the bus company for their failure to provide transport last week?"
Well..... um...the Asstistant Athletic Director, who orders busses .......only ordered one instead of four. His bad.

I so wish I could have seen that, YWIW!
Whoa. Craziness here today. Lot's of running around in heels.

We went out to at least two clubs in the Marina - I can remember doing shots in one and just drinking and hanging out in the other.
I think we did Champagne at home, and then wrecking havoc as the night continued.
And, I will keep a good thought for good news in the mail for you!
I am off today, getting my place re-appraised for a refi. It is sad that I hope my value only dropped by $70,000. The appraiser knew the complex, and indicated that where I live has held up much better than other areas around it... Le sigh...

And Shira, that would be the good news.
It is just money - (keep on telling self that to avoid kicking self)...
The place is actually holding up much better than other places, where prices have just bottomed.
Mooney, I actually at one time thought of opening up a bar called "The Bar's Bar" which would provide legal research tools to those who wanted to drink and cite.

Posted: 2/17/09 at 3:46pmThat's very clever! I once sent Brdlwyr a cartoon that featured a bar full of members of the bar. The bar's name was "The Bored Lawyer".

Way to go, C13!
A few days ago, someone asked how close the bushfires came to Melbourne. (They are still burning, by the way) This photo was run in the Sydney newspaper, The Daily Telegraph. It shows my hometown from one of the main fire sites, Kinglake. What was once a tranquil, bushland oasis for hobby farmers, campers, honeymooners and escapees from the rat-race has been turned into a horror of ash.

Wow GH! That looks close! Such a sad tragedy!
Thanks for the congrats! It is too bad that she had to wait to get the news, her friends learned on Saturday. Overall our school did well. The public school letters are not out yet. Some of the elite have applied to a very prestigious public school and only a few will be accepted.

Our house value has dropped about 240,000 dollars. So far.
Hep - that is heart-stopping.

Q, we have lost about 200K in value. Some "flippers" on our street have lost 200K in cash as opposed to equity.
I have no plans on moving in the next five years, so it really does not bother me now. But, I could have upgraded space in 2005 if I had been smart!

We're not going anywhere, either, brd - especially now.

That is funny because just tonight I said - "Could you just get a national commercial?" (for tuition)
When C10 finishes grade school, there is no reason to live in this neighborhood. So, just a few more years. But, I do love this toy house.

Posted: 2/18/09 at 12:17amI really like our house, and am very comfortable in it. I just don't like where it is. At all. But we couldn't recreate this anywhere else in SoCal, especially toward the coast.

Posted: 2/18/09 at 12:23amWe live in two different worlds, you do not like your neighbors because of their corrupt minds, I do not like my neighbors because they park their commercial vans on the street!
