Hey kids. Who's around? Work is a bore.

re: Can the Adults Please Smoke? - Tantalizing Ten

I was off from work today so I had made plans earlier to meet up with a true friend to have lunch after he finished work. We had a terrificly mad lunch at a Times Square bistro. Then we were joined by another dear friend of my friend, and continued to have a marvelous time. My friend tells me that next year he is hosting a big Thanksgiving dinner party, which will include guest(s) from across the pond. It may be an all-male Thanksgiving dinner. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Forgot to add that I met my partner afterwards and we went to see THE HISTORY BOYS (which we liked better on the stage), then changed the dinner on the way home. Instead of a reheated turkey with all the trimmings, we had scrumptous mushrooom, cheddar and Sopressata omelettes with rosemary, and some red wine, followed by a pear and some cheese. Delishous. Back to a repeat viweing of THE FORSYTE SAGA, the original BBC version, tonight.

Glad you had fun today, BB. Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving!

Oh. There'll be at least one female at that Thanksgiving dinner. re: Can the Adults Please Smoke? - Tantalizing Ten

My step-father retired from teaching high school earlier than he anticipated, because he said the inmates were running the asylum. I now know what he meant.

Good evening, folks.

I just watched the charming one in "Jeffrey". He and Olympia Dukakis certainly made a lovely mother/daughter pair - didn't you think? re: Can the Adults Please Smoke? - Tantalizing Ten

Any film with the charming one in it is good - even if he's playing a character named Angelique.

I loved the two of them together. Even if it was a farcical scene, I actually believed that they were mother and daughter (used purposefully!) They both have such heart and committment as actors, that it provided a foundation of reality for the silliness.

And I LOVE the movie.

Try standing on your head in the deep end. I don't think I've ever seen a cow do that.

TCM is showing "White Christmas" now. Danny Kaye's performance should keep anyone from being bored!

I loved the movie too, DG. Greg and Olympia kept looking at each other with these big smiles that really did make you feel like they were a loving mom and her favorite child! The film made you laugh and cry. When Bryan Batt's character died, I sobbed. I think it hit you particularly hard coming right after that whole funny sequence in the park for Gay Pride. I just really enjoyed the whole thing.

Truman Capote used to say that, whenever he felt himself feeling bored, he'd get so involved in analyzing what was making him feel that way that he no longer found himself in that predicament.

LOL - I could probably spend the same amount of time analyzing Truman Capote and get the same results!
