Technically this (BWW) is all stored in a database so whoever has global rights to the database can read all. Whether they exercise those abilites is another matter. The veil of privacy is what we all have to live with.

I only read PMs addressed to me. I never had the ability to read PMs which were not sent to me or even see PMs in others' mailboxes. But I'm not saying that ability didn't/doesn't exist.

Kansas is correct. All mail databases allow for global access, and the administrator has that right. Think "work." Nothing in electronic messaging is private or confidential. Even emails. It's the new law of the electronic age. Want something kept private? Write it in a letter. That has a higher probability of remaining private.
