I took some lovely pictures outside my window and I can't seem to get them to upload. Grr..I know there has been a lot of Paris talk, but I was hoping to transport you all to the picturesque, quaint seacoast of New England.
I would be happy to be transported there, Princeton...
because sadly I have to be transported to the conference room in a few minutes. Ugh...
How deep is the snow so far, Princeton?
Addy: I shall keep that in mind!
Princeton, did you see the link to my apartment in Paris?...
Will you have a snow day tomorrow?
Between K talking about his "villa in Provence" and Addy talking about her "apartment in Paris," no wonder the other people on the board think the denizens of this thread are "stuck-up."
I LOVE IT!!!
(And, yes, Pton, we also love the North Shore. Just not as much as we love Paris.)
LA--tell Carl that Paris awaits the two of you!
They think we're stuck up?

Addy: A mutual friend of our in CT said they had a snow day today :)
well, on that note, I have to go give a presentation.
Blah, blah, blah for three hours. I can't stand it.

I am sorry Addy! Come back soon :)
You come to Paris, you come to play:
You have a wonderful time, you go away.
From then on, you speak of Paris knowingly.
You may know Paris,
But you don’t know...Paree.
--Cole Porter
Ahhh Cookie, you are describing my solo, 10 day trip two years ago. I stayed first in a B&B in the Marais, followed by the George Cinq. Such disparity, but so wonderful. I didn't speak English at all while there. Total submersion into the culture. I simply wondered around everyday doing what ever struck my fancy--shopping for breakfast, drinking wine at cafes, shopping, museums, walking into things becasue I was staring at buildings. I think I only missed visiting two districts. Oddly, my favorite night was a Saturday spent in a French Supermarket in L'Defense. Strange, but true! Everyone was shopping. It was like a disco with canned goods. Just walking around the cheese section with it's horrific odor sampling all of the cheeses took me over an hour. Heaven!
...sneaks back in because the meeting has been pushed back 20 minutes.
SOMMS, that's the best part of Paris (or any place, for that matter). Just letting yourself wander and discover.
Blah, blah, blah for 2 hours and 40 minutes.
I will have to pick up the pace of my blah, blah, blah-ing... I have less time to fascinate them all with my work!

Addy - that gives you time to have a Manhattan before the meeting
I just got out of my meeting. Almost lunch time. Might actually do Sizzlers today ( That thump was Addy fainting)
DG, that just made me a little ill...
I'm staying away from those for a bit. Especially the poison ones at the Royalton.

The Sizzlers by us has a great salad bar.
Ours does too. but I am in the mood for a little meat.
DAME - lol. Ya gotta love Sizzlers!
(who says we're stuck up?!)
I even have a coupon.
Dame, I'm not touching that last comment!
Princeton, I just saw your photos in the fan photos. That's some snowstorm... LOL! (blank white photos...)
New York has neon, Berlin has bars,
But ah! Paree!
Shanghai has silk and Madrid guitars.
But ah! Paree! In Cairo you find bizarre bazaars.
In London 'pip! pip!' you sip tea.
But when it comes to love.
None of the above
Compares, compris?
So if it's making love
That rou're thinking of,
Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah! Paree!
I have seen the ruins of Rome,
I've been in the igloos of Nome.
I have gone to Moscow. it's very gay--
Well, anyway.
On the first of May.
I have seen Rangoon and Soho,
And I like them more than so-so.
But when there's a moon.
Goodbye, Rangoon--
Hello. Montmartre, hello!
Peking has rickshaws, New Orleans jazz.
But ah! Paree!
Beirut has sunshine -- that's all it has,
But ah! Paree!
Constantinople has Turkish baths
And Athens that lovely debris.
Carlsbad may have a spa.
But for ooh-la-la,
You come with me!
Carlsbad is where you're cured
After you have toured
Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah! Paree!
