Thanks, guys. I hope I'm overreacting, but when he said "I'm taking your mom to the doctor again today", it was the again that caught my eye.

Beacs, unfortunately no help needed spending that money. Have needed a new windshield for over a year now, am 1 day overdue in having the car inspected, where I suspect some hidden repairs are lurking. If I come into another windfall, though, I will be sure to contribute to the Beacon1 Defense Fund.

Bdwaygirl, omigosh. I can relate to car stuff. My Service Engine Soon light came on a few days before I was to have my car inspected and my stomach cramped right up. My car has nearly 125,000 on it and has been quite faithful but it's not immortal... anyhow. It was simple fix (vacuum hose replacements) and I pass with flying colors. I was so tensed up and worried about it all that when they said "your car's ready" and the bill was under $100 than I almost burst into tears. (I need a loooong vacation...)

Glad you could get the windshield fixed... That windfall was quite timely!
