Not dissing, I have just found so many better series, with better writing and better characters and stories.
I mean, I've read all of the HP books except the latest but still...pick up the Black Cauldron series sometime. Or, if you like the way Rowling makes real-life situations blend into her fantasy world, no one has EVER done it better in fantasy than LeGuin, for my money. She creates a completely different world, full of magic and beings and such, and still manages to bring earthly emotions into it in a way that actually made me cry at the ending of a book. And I've never actually cried reading a book.
But she did it. Twice.

Well, we're only about 5 or 6 centimeters now. She's doing good. All future grandparents are there, and the prospective grandpops are pacing around. They had unhooked her insulin pump, but they hooked it back up. Not sure I ever mentioned it, she was diagnosed with diabetes when she was 4 and for the last few years, had the insulin pump (not sure of the exact name) inserted, instead of having to give herself shots everyday. It was easier with her lifestyle. The diabetes being the reason they were going to induce her next Thursday. Her official due date was August 22. So, that's where we're at now.

I know DD! Can't wait to hold him!

Boobs, nah we'll let him out, even though it would've been special if he arrived Monday. I'm sure Shannon will be glad to have him here, as will all the rest of us. If he's born today, he'll be born on his maternal great-grandmother's birthday, if he comes tomorrow, it's his maternal great-grandfather's birthday, but they're both deceased, so he'll have his own birthday in the family for the time being.

Thanks Addy and everyone for all the good karma today!

Got a phone call around 6:30 that they were going to do a cesarean, then another phone call around 7:30 that they wheeled the baby out and up to the ICU with no word to anyone waiting how either mom or baby were, then another phone call at 8:00 that mom's in recovery and both are fine.

*Drum Roll*

Miles Thomas arrived at 7:25 PM, weighed 7 lbs. 13 oz. and is 21 1/4 inches long!
