There was another thread in the last couple of days where Margo kind of yelled at redhot, too...I was surprised. She's getting FEISTY.

Am I the only one who has to turn down my radio when that BROOKLYN ad comes on?? I'm embarrassed that anyone near me would think I'm listening to that screeching on purpose.

It's not always the newbies and kids though. Most of the time, yes but, not always. I have seen plenty of adults (even ones who frequent this thread) go on the defensive when someone else gives an opposing opinion.
In almost every case, when I look over the thread and the ensuing argument, it seems to stem from someone assuming more than what was said. It's a phenomenon that runs rampart on message boards.
If I say "I think you're wrong" you read "I think you're an idiot who is not entitled to an opinion."
People need to learn to actually READ what is written and take it at face value without adding to it. Also, I've noticed that often times someone writes something, it comes across differently than they meant and someone takes offense at it. I've been a victim of that many times. I find it a lot more respectful and it causes fewer arguments when someone just asks politely what you actually are trying to say. Sometimes, I go backa nd look at my own words then edit them because they don't accurately represent what I was thinking when I wrote them.
So many fueds have started between people over a misunderstood view, an assumtion as to who the person is and what they are trying to say or just not stepping back and giving someone the benefit of the doubt by asking them to clarify.
Thank God for this thread where that doesn't happen. Too bad everyone can't take an example from this group and realize that when you don't jump to conclusions, you end up getting a better understanding of someone.
Done preaching now.

So, Orion, are you saying that Idina didn't deserve the Tony? Is that what you're saying? Why does every thread have to bash Wicked? Idina iDina idIna idiNa idinA.

Now that I think of it, maybe I should wander back to that thread and get into a fight. I'm in a feisty mood after spending the past half hour dealing with a sick dog. Since it's not the dog's fault, I need to unleash the frustration on someone. A combative newbie is as good a choice as any.

BT, you're not getting me into any type of conversation about Idina or Wicked. I could lose friends and almost have.

that exchange between Margo and redhot had only to do with the fact that redhot isn't very good at math... i never take Margo's post any other way than informative... but i admire the way Margo keeps pushing KuhnKrazy to qualify her post... which she won't do... yes, Margo is in great form on that thread!

I've heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know I'm who I am today
Because I knew you
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know I'm who I am today
Because I knew you

They're just some lyrics that are appropriate to the experience between us here. The only problem would be if someone didn't want to view it objectively and take it in the spirit that it was meant.
