No, as long as you're an adult and behave like one, you're very much welcome.

GOOD MORNING!
Just a little shout out to all you sleepyheads!
The sky is a light pink/blue. A beautiful sunrise.
I've already been out for a run, am showered and dressed and ready to go enjoy this fabulous Saturday!
I'm leaving coffee out for all of you who stayed up too late last night. I was a little afraid I might wake to find this place littered with the bodies of my friends who were pouring so many festive drinks last night.
So - I'm off. Be back tomorrow.
A little Saturday song for all all of you
Come Saturday morning
I'm goin' away with my friend
We'll Saturday-spend till the end of the day-ay
Just I and my friend
We'll travel for miles in our Saturday smiles
And then we'll move on
But we will remember long after Saturday's gone
(Come Saturday morning, come Saturday mo-o-rning)
Come Saturday morning
I'm goin' away with my friend
We'll Saturday-laugh more than half of the day (ay-ay-ay)
Just I and my friend (my friend)
Dressed up in our rings and our Saturday things
And then we'll move on
But we will remember long after Saturday's gone
(Come Saturday morning, come Saturday morning)
Come Saturday mo (Saturday) rning
Just I and my friend (my friend)
We'll travel for miles in our Saturday smiles
And then we'll move on
But we will remember long after Saturday's gone

Hello again folks. Well it looks like this will be the weekend when the ticker hits 10,000! Hopefully I can be around for it.
Seem our Miss Erin will turn "Sweet Sixteen" tomorrow. So cake, ice cream and a marathon of STAR WARS is on my agenda.

My friend Susan (we grew up together)wrote this email...I needed to share this with you guys.
I just spoke to a former student who had joined to National Guard to "try to get out of Jersey City" and who just returned from a tour in Iraq as a Marine. Her husband also served and is finally home after having his tour extended twice. The stories she told me about being there, what she saw, the horrendous conditions and tragedies she endured, and the hopelessness of the situation were shocking to me.
She said it was absolute hell. Her husband won't even speak about it; he has constant nightmares since having returned. She told me of the US soldiers being underfed and ill-equipped...of troops' bunks being burned by insurgents...of the death of innocent civilians...of constantly fearing for her life...of seeing soldiers being killed left and right...of the desperate attempts to recruit new soldiers on this end because they are losing too many people there...of morale among our troops being in the gutter...
Attention babyboomers: SOUND FAMILIAR?
I have not been in support of the Iraq war, and still my young friend's stories hit me like a ton of bricks. Reading about the war in the newspaper is one thing, I suppose. Hearing about what's really going on from someone who's been there is another reality entirely.
If you have the chance to speak to someone who has served in Iraq and been blessed enought to come back safe and sound, take it. In the meantime, please just know that we are DEFINITELY NOT being told what is truly happening there. Whatever your political leanings are, understand that things are a wreck in the situation we've created there and that in reality it's not getting any better, no matter what any politician, newspaper, or TV report tells us.
As of noon today, Saturday the 25th of September, 1,043 American soldiers have died (CNN.com Specials ). Thousands of others are severely injured. Tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians have been killed by both sides.
Pray. Chant. Send care packages. Do whatever you like to do to effect change and send blessings. And on November 2nd, VOTE.

wow. It's amazing how easily discarded our soldiers' negative experiences in Iraq are...do you ever see it on the news? Nope? That darn liberal media bias tends to show, over and over, the talking heads of the Bush Administration praising the Iraq situation, trying so hard to make us believe that reality isn't...well, reality.
Bring them home asap. I'm afraid it's too late to just pull out (imagine the unbelievable chaos if we just up and left!) but it needs to happen soon.

Joey, I don't even think anyone else is here.
But, a good tidbit on the packing front: I'm nearly done! Unbelievable how easy it turned out to be...of course, I don't get to actually move until Thursday (sidenote, feel free to volunteer to help me move at least from this apartment if any of you are free...the new apartment has an elevator so that'll be the easy part...) but at least it's done.
And now, my workplace has decided that I somehow didn't request certain days or times off for any specific reasons and was scheduled to work a double shift tomorrow. That'd be right over the recording I'm scheduled to start singing on at 7:30 tomorrow night. Seriously, I feel as if I make these requests in a vacuum or something. Or maybe they're just conferencing with Dubya.

Well, the only way for me to work it out now is to go over there and recruit a replacement. So what I'm basically going to do is show up tomorrow and refuse to work a double. Please, all, pray I don't get fired. I seriously doubt it and it's so completely impossible that we'll even need a double person, but there you are...they are major @$$holes and seem to thrive on inconveniencing their staff.
