Mom - as I mentioned, I have a really small family. One sister. One niece. One nephew. I am devoted to them - and can do something a little special for each of them because I don't have too many to 'buy' for. Emily and I have always had a special bond - her nickname for me is Mame... Time to open a new window for her!

Thanks, Boobs. It was truly heartfelt.
Adgal, I completely relate to you. No children of my own - my choice! - but "nieces" and a godson for whom I endeavor to deliver delight in any way I can. Being Auntie Mame is my greatest joy.

Rath darling...I just wanted to point out that we did agree on that you can have as many women as you'd like and me as many men as I like, but that's it. So tell SOMMS sorry.

AdGal... I should've known you were called "Auntie Mame" by someone!
As far as kids goes, I would give ANYTHING for a woman who loves me and wants to have my children. Not having that makes me... sad.

And, as you know, it's not just about 'buying' things. That's the least of it. It's my greatest joy to be involved in their lives - to share each wonderful detail of it!
Godchildren - that's another story. Seems each friend I do the 'bridesmaid thing' for asks me to be a Godmother when they have their first child. With 16 weddings under my belt - I have a flock of Godchildren... Every year in December I have a big party and invite them all over...Love it! Being a friend is so much fun!!

Today is also Jack LaLaine's birthday. Does anyone remember watching his tv show as a kid? He's 90 today and looks great. I was just watching him on The Today Show.

For Emily
Artist: Simon & Garfunkel
What I dream I had, dressed in organdy
Clothed in crinoline, of smoky Burgundy
Softer than the rain
I wandered empty streets, down past the shop displays
I heard cathedral bells, tripping down the alley ways
As I walked on
And when you ran to me your cheeks flushed with the night
We walked on frosted fields of juniper and lamplight
I held your hand
And when I awoke and felt you warm and near
I kissed your honey hair with my grateful tears
Oh I love you, girl
Oh, I love you
