Sung to the tune of Copacabanna:

Her name was AdGal,
She is a swell gal.
She likes to drink those pink cicktails
And wears red flannel well

She is a hottie.
And is not snotty.
And that’s why we love her so,
That we never want to go.

Her niece calls her "Mame"
She is quite a Dame!

She’s gonna live forever
Like those kids on Fame!

Her name is AdGal….

My favorites are Singin' with the Big Bands and Swing Street - he's a fabulous arranger. Of his old songs, I always cried during Weekend in New England.

I saw where he is releasing an album of songs from his two musicals.

They should revive Copacabanna.

I sang back-up for Elton John. That was fun.

Now I am in such a Barry mood - I need to go right home and dig out all my old Manilow records!!

NYAdgal...you are sooo going to have to tell me about seeing Barry Manilow in concert. He puts on such an awesome show.

I sure heart Barry!

Right now, however, I'm working on paperwork and listening to the soundtrack of "The Alamo" (2004 movie) by Carter Burwell. Some very evocative themes...rather melancholy which is apropos for the movie and for me right now. :o)

Yep - I did a couple of performances with him in Carnegie Hall.
I also sang with Paul McCartney...

I've been lucky!

Fave Barry tunes...

"Somewhere in the Night"

"Weekend in New England"

"DayBreak" (in college the campus radio station began every broadcast day with that for one whole year!)

"When October Goes"

Oh...I can't think of them all...
