*sigh* Oh, parents. Maybe they should just let me live my life, marry who I want! Not that I have any clue who that is, of course...
In case my net dies prematurely (like <60 seconds) good night and I'll TTY tmrw!!
Night, dear!

go outside & check out the meteor showers-if not tonight, then tomorrow!
But it's snowing!
Broadway Legend Joined: 12/5/04
sorry-not in NYC,it isn't-but it is tough catching them b/w the clouds & light pollution & all:still it's a sight to see!
No lights or pollution here...just snow.

Central NY. About an hour from Ithaca?

wow-I'd think you'd have a better shot @ it than I-supposed to be happening tomorrow night,too-maybe your weather will be better then-all I can say is it's pretty impressive here right now.
I wish I could see it. I usually can. I grew up in a really rural town in CA, so we would always take mattresses outside in August and watch the meteors all night long.

yes,the persiads are easier to watch, since the weather's so much more conducive to hanging out-3 years ago they were just AMAZING!Dozens every minute...but tonight's not too shabby-sorry you can't see them-we haven't had any real snow to speak of in the city yet, just some wimpy flurries...
Fair trade. I never usually get snow.

well,I'd just as soon keep the meteor showers-you can have the snow....
Deal!

but we can trade off every once in awhile if you want to....
Yes, please! I get cold...

get a couple of ferrets-if they don't keep you warm, at least they'll keep you from being bored....
Ferret? That sounds fun. Too bad pets are illegal in my dorm...*snickers at the idea of rules being followed* Yeah, on my floor alone there's a rabbit, a hamster, a toad, and several fish. Silly college.
Is it sad that I still hang around this site at five am? There's really very little going on...

well..."nothing is either good nor bad but thinking makes it so..." Will Shakespeare, and it's true - it's only bad if you think it is.And ferrets! They can be a lot of fun-but you have to be very careful with them because they're very clever but not very smart & can escape into the great wide open, never to be seen again-corral them properly, and you will never again want for amusement in your life!
That's what my cousin said. She had one...back when they were illegal in CA. Once they legalized them, it died. Slight irony.

I've had many-it's best to keep them in pairs(at least)-the more they amuse each other, the less trouble they'll get into(and believe me,their trouble-making prowess is considerable).Their life expectancy in the wild is 2/3 years. In captivity,it's 7/12(lack of predators, etc).
Absolutely a perfect city pet..
Now I want one! Okay, that's so going on the list of things I want but won't get for Channukah...

seriously, get two-and get 'em neutered-females will die in their first year if they're not bred or fixed(no joke). And ferret-proof the place(those little buggers can get into anything-it's your job to stop them).Having done that, just sit back & have a blast-they're easy to litterbox train & will have endless fun with a dryer hose.Simple, lovable creatures...
*puts on sweetest voice* "Daaaaddyyyyyyyy? Do you love me?"
