Can the teenagers (and twentysomethings) please angst?

Posted: 12/17/04 at 9:58pmOh, I hate to stick myself into those categories. If I like it, I wear it. I have hippieish stuff, slightly punky/gothy stuff, wierd t-shirts and a few things I've modified myself. I gave up on trying to fit into a category and thus a social class a long time ago. Too much work... you have to like all the same stuff as the other people in order for them to like you.

Aw, I'm sorry. I hope things start looking better for you.
No, hopefully no angsting for me until February (when I'm back in classes.) I'm home until the 2nd of January, and then I head off to Africa. Yay! I'm so ridiculously excited!

I was reminded, however, with the angsting, of a site called Book-A-Minute.
They condense books a lot (sort of like Broadway Abridged, but even more abridged...)
They summarize the Catcher in the Rye:
Holden Caulfield
Angst angst angst swear curse swear crazy crazy angst swear curse, society sucks, and I'm a stupid jerk.
Seriously one of my favorite sites. The abridgements of Harry Potter and Lord of the Flies and others are hilarious. And if you've ever read E.E. Cummings, his summary is really entertaining.
Here's the website if you care http://rinkworks.com/bookaminute/classics.shtml

Yay, I'm glad you liked it!
Should I post it on its own thread? It's thoroughly entertaining, and I think this audience would truly appreciate it.

That was great. I love their "Taming of the Shrew":

I can be civilized now that a man has bossed me around. I love you madly, Petruchio.

Can I angst about the lifelessness of the Angst thread and the Random thread? To liven up the place, another questionnaire!
1. The BWW member you have a crush on. (And to make things interesting, you can't choose your "current" BWW bf/gf.)
2. Why you first came on to BWW.
3. You knew you were addicted when...
4. The BWW thread you wish would just die already.
5. Your worst habit that you wish your "real" life friends wouldn't know about!

1. The BWW member you have a crush on. (And to make things interesting, you can't choose your "current" BWW bf/gf.)
I am SO keeping this quiet until I hear more responses!
2. Why you first came on to BWW.
Geez, I don't remember. I know it was in, uh, February. And I was finding information out about the shows so I'd know what to plan when I went to NYC in April. I used to be part of the Broadway.com board until it closed and I was hankering for a place to read about Broadway and chill with people! (I never had such an emotional connection to anyone on that board though, so this is new!)
3. You knew you were addicted when...
I had 3 essays, 2 presentations and my LSAT all in the same week (you guys remember that) and I STILL spent most of my time on here.
4. The BWW thread you wish would just die already.
The Welcome Anthony Rapp thread. Not because of anything against him or anything, but because it exemplifies everything wrong with over-zealous fans who post stupid comments and use bad grammar and kiss ass to him. The poor guy wanted it to be a chill place, like Fredi's Wagon thread. And now he's stuck posting an undate every few days because he feels obligated to, and no one's engaging in any more quality discussion about it than "THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HTE UPDATE! YAY LA VIE BOHEME!!!" and threadjackingthe hell outta that place. I don't want to wade through random PARAGRAPHS that people post about their personal lives and stupid fluff. UGH! DIE THREAD DIE! Anthony, run while you can, or start over! ~~ Was that enough angsting for you?
5. Your worst habit that you wish your "real" life friends wouldn't know about!
My addiction to this place. It's only embarrassing because of the amount of time I spend on here. At work, at school, at home...I swear, if I had the Internet on my cell phone, I'd be on here when I'm out socializing too. It's that bad.
Someone else's turn!

(A) BWW member you have a crush on.
Well, I tend not to get crushes, rather I fall passionately in love until I realize 'Duh, the guy's a moron.' But as far as BWW, well of course I'm blinded by the sparkling personalities of all on the Rent/Random/Angst threads, however I daresay you are all a bunch of ugly mingers. So that said, I'll plump for joeyjoe, because the guy in his icon with the upside down flower is cute. Aaaah, shallowness, how I love thee.
(2) Why you first came on to BWW.
Looking up Broadway shows for my visit to NYC, stumbled across
this magical oasis, never left.
(C) You knew you were addicted when...
I stayed online even though I was amazingly tired, and had to be up early the next day. Why am I so addicted to such ramblings? Aaah well. *glugs back JackDaniels*
(4) Hmmm, well I post on a lot of threads that must annoy the hell out of the other board members, (only because the threads are so numerous), so I shall go for a dignified silence.
(E) Same as Tiff...not that I don't like you guys...I mean I don't, but...y'know how it is.

What shows did you end up seeing in NYC?
Did you answer the other questionnaire on the Random thread?

And whatever happened to my clitoris thread?
Geez, those mods are so squeamish.
