I had my first debate meet today. It was....interesting to say the least. Here is a short summary of what happened:
I took the negative stance on my issue. I messed up the Cross Examination but did okay on the actual speech. Then, the coach decided that since one girl was missing, I should do affirmative, of which I did almost no research. It was really funny though, because I said stuff that just came out of nowhere and the other team, which had the exact same research as me, said I was right. It was just great.

awesome, MFL.
do we see a future lawyer?
Type_A_Tiff: There's nothing hard about her. Broadway_star_tomorrow: Yeah. Her arteries.
#8279let there be angst..
Posted: 2/10/05 at 5:43pmI'm not sure. All I know is, if there's another debate, I'm coming prepared for both sides.

thats always a good thing to do.
plus, if you know both sides, you can more easily refute your opponent.

Posted: 2/10/05 at 5:52pmThanks! The weird thing was, I actually did a better cross examination when I was completely unprepared. Oh well. Next time, there will be no unprepared.

so this really isnt angsting but, today in class Victorian poetry every week we make comments about the poems that we read and then the next day the teacher goes through his favourite responses and he chose mine to share mine today and it made me feel special.
but so I'm doing my annotated bibliography for my big English paper and one of my books is an e-book and my resources have no guide for an e-book. anyone have any clues what i should do maybe a web page like citation?

Posted: 2/11/05 at 4:08pmso I dont see why we have to write 2 pages on each of the 15 books we are going to use for our papers in English. why cant i just write my paper now and get it done with. I dont like the reasoning for this to be done in several steps. Just give us the guidelines and when the drafts and final paper are due. why go through the entire process. Heavens knows i can read a book and research stuff from it to write a paper, im in college. if you cant write a paper how'd you get into college. and I really cant do any writing until ive actually read my books, ive skimmed them all to see if they were useful when i was in the library but thats all ive got now. on to reading and writing the annotated bibliography.

AHHHH! This thread lives!
ANGST! I've been sick and had rehearsals for random things so I haven't had very good attendance for my pointe class. I was finally able to go today, so I cancelled everything and got ready. I drove through traffic, got there late, and realized I left my bag and shoes at school. After canceling EVERYTHING I really wanted to attend I screwed it up. Now I have to figure out how to get it back and everyone is pissed at me. SOOOO Stupid.

I know her school's play was this weekend, but she hasn't been online in like two or three days, almost.
I'm alright, I just finished a paper that ran away with the remnants of my brain, and then I finished my book. I'm going to start Take it Like a Man soon.
How's life treating you?

I'm full of angst and will be till...well...August but it's such a big pandora's box that I start to type out my issues then go, "Ehhhh....why bother."

Finally starting Take It Like a Man! I'm so pleased! You have to tell me what you think. What was the book you just finished?
I'm doing quite well myself. I'm still high off of seeing a local production of Tartuffe last night with my father. It was especially fun because my dad saw his first thong ever (on a 50-something year old man, no less), and his facial expression was priceless.
Yo, Tiffsta.

I just finished Larry Kramer's Faggots. AMAZING.
Tartuffe. I'd like to see that on stage; I read it last semster for English.

I love Larry Kramer, although I'm not familiar with Faggots. I'll have to pick it up.
And if there is ever a production of Tartuffe near you, you MUST go see it.

Posted: 2/13/05 at 10:17pmRead it. Now. Actually, I had a really hard time finding a copy, so if you're interested try to order it from Barnes and Noble or Amazon. Check out my blog if you want to see more about it. It's really angsty and really graphic and just... aaaaah.

Okay. I'll try to get to Borders or Barnes and Noble or SOMEWHERE tomorrow to see if I can grab it. If not, I'll definitely make sure to order.
Now I'm off to check your blog!
