Yes, it did come very naturally. I have quite the inner fangirl, it would seem.
The character is very interesting for me. Enjolras (spelled "Enjolras" not "Enjorlas" as I had done in my fangirl post) is a very Robespierre/St-Just character. A celibate (I think he's gay, you should ask that actor about that!), cold, nasty, vicious, very logical but without much of a heart beyond politics. Very Marxist in his ideals. Inmyeversohumbleopinion, very sexy. Have fun on your interview!

Posted: 11/2/04 at 1:57amwell there's that whole semi homoerotic undertone behind Grantaire's obsession with Enjolras. he could've cared less for the cause, he just did what Enjolras did.

he's gay? like the character or the actor? i can fix that. what age bracket are we looking at here? do you think he's partial to diminuitive yet feishy asians?
okay, you know what i'm going to ask of you 18+ americans...and it has to do with tomorrow.

it's one of my favorite parts of the unabridged 2000-pager that took me half a year to read the 1st time. do you picture Anthony Crivello as Grantaire too?
Tiff: already voted absentee ballot! and you should try telling your dad to chill out let you do your thing. he'll like that.

Posted: 11/2/04 at 2:01amI picture him as Anthony with a little bit longer hair. The only problem is Anthony is FAR too handsome. Do you picture Valjean as Colm Wilkinson? Updated On: 11/2/04 at 02:01 AM

Posted: 11/2/04 at 2:03amNah--he needs to have longer hair--sort of Mark J McVeyish, although I didn't even see him in the role.

Anthony with longer hair!!! that would give you Paul Truckey! he was an excellent Grantaire/Bamattabois and a very good Javert understudy. I think he fits your description. for Valjean, I actually picture Rob Evan's voice coming from Sean Connery. I just love RE's singing, and Colm's Irish thing reeks of Connery. Javert though, no one but Philip Quast!

Posted: 11/2/04 at 2:06amI saw Paul- he was excellent. I also think of Philip as Javert, but with Roger Allam's voice. I never got into the Quasties thing. Do you picture anyone as Enjolras?

Posted: 11/2/04 at 2:06amOh if they made a movie Sean Connery would be a great Valjean (if they dubbed his voice the entire time)
