I watched the fireworks over the Capital live and then came back to watch the repeat of "Capital Fourth". Did anyone else see it? I guess I should say I watched a portion. Darren Criss did an awful job doing "Shout" and Megan Hilty completely ruined "Someone to Watch Over Me". Someone has to explain her popularity, I find almost everything she does awful. But not as bad as Darren Criss. But you have to say one thing about most Gleeks. Their taste is bad on a universal scale. I mean, they actually think Lea Michele is talented.

I was embarrassed for Criss, it was bad to the point of being uncomfortable. Couldn't figure out what was wrong with Hilty, maybe the wrong key? Barry Manilow needs to go away, just go away. Overall, the sound system seemed awful.

I was there in person for the rehearsal and for the actual concert. Barry Manilow was flat like there was no tomorrow. I kept saying to myself, "someone, please make him stop!" Megan Hilty sounded fine there. There was definitely a lot of feedback with the sound as it was bouncing off of the Capitol.

Motown looked and sounded really good during the actual concert. They were in still in transit from NYC the night of the rehearsal and the two fill-ins for their spot that night were just plain awful (no one related to the Broadway production for that matter).

I also saw the telecast when I got home. Enough of showing the people in the audience acting like fools. Ironically the MC prior to the actual concert ENCOURAGED the crowd to behave like that. He sounded just like Dr. Phil, too. Yuck.

I've been in DC for 13 years and this was my first year venturing to the concert. I preferred my vantage for the fireworks from the Kennedy Center as opposed to where I was last night.

I thought the entire concert was very lack-luster. I have renewed loathing for Tom Bergeron. Could Barry Manilow's face be pulled any tighter? It's a wonder he can move his mouth at all. I missed the first half hour but there's no way I'm going back to watch it. I hope the Labor Day concert is better.

His face is so tight he lisps when he speaks!

I like Manilow but I was very disappointed not only in his performances but that he was given so much time. I'd have rather had a few more people there than all that Barry.

I liked Neil Diamond though and was glad he was included.

I thought Hilty sounded fine in all her songs except the last mixed note of "God Bless America"
