Captain America: The Winter Soldier
#1Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Posted: 4/10/14 at 8:07pmI was a bit lost with it, I might not have been paying attention either, I had no idea who Hyrda (?) was or why any of it was happening or maybe I didn't care. Not sure which.

Posted: 4/10/14 at 11:29pmI was just watching Agents of SHIELD without having seen Cap yet and was pretty lost. I guess you need to see the movies to get everything going on in the show now which is kind of annoying.

Posted: 4/11/14 at 12:45amHYDRA was the big baddie in the first Captain America movie. Basically they're just an evil organization that's infiltrated SHIELD over the years.

Posted: 4/11/14 at 4:48amStrummer, I did see the first one, and I thought they killed the baddie in that! Than again I have never read a marvel comic in my life. It took me a while to figure out that Scar Jo was a super hero in this as well, Black Widow (?)

Posted: 4/11/14 at 4:51amHave you seen any of the Marvel Films Rosscoe? ScarJo is in 4 of them as the same character Black Widow. The baddie in the first movie was Red Skull the leader of Hydra a science division of the Nazi Regime.

They killed Red Skull, but as this movie explained with the doctor-in-the-computer thing, Hydra lived on after Red Skull.
I thought it had a good mix of predictability (if they're killing Nick Fury, it is not in a Captain America movie) and shockers (Ooh! That girl on Revenge as a nurse! Wait, not a nurse!), a good foe worthy of Cap, and I liked how they showed that Captain America can really, seriously get hurt. I love my superheroes destructible, because it makes what they continue to do that much greater.

Like I get that ScarJo has had a different haircut in all the Marvel films she has been in but how could you not know she was Black Widow?

Posted: 4/21/14 at 4:41pmThis was easily my favorite post-AVENGERS film. It was even better than the first one. Way to go Marvel Studios!

Enjoyed it, but didn't love it.
I found the timing of slow vs fast segments too predictably spaced and too much time spent in the "action" sequences with the good guys dodging insane fusillades of bullets. There were also some continuity/internal logic lapses that annoyed me.
That said, I'm happy to watch Chris Evans all day--regardless of logic.

Loved it, especially how it tied in with Agents of Shield. That show has gotten really good lately!
Thor is also awesome
