Famed Italian director and producer (Doctor Zhivago) and husband to Sophia Loren has passed at age 94. Rest in peace and thanks for all the beauty you have given us.
I thought he died years ago.

Wow, lildogs is right. The beauty he gave the world was not limited to Doctor Zhivago...

True that - Carlo Jr. owns a home here in San Francisco, and is a frequent guest conducter with the Symphony. It's not unusual to see his mother in the gallery - I saw her at one performance a couple of years ago and have never been so star struck in all my life. To thi sday I can't tell you what the program was!
The one on the left is too beautiful to be real!
God Bless the Italians! I swear, the only ugly people I saw in Italy were tourists. Everybody else (old/young, male/female) was unbelievable.
I think after my not-so-great experiences with The Chosen People, I may confine my search to the paisani.

"God Bless the Italians!"
Look Rath - that's us!
Well, you're pretty cute, but I certainly couldn't compete with that Ponti family!
The only downside is they never seem to cut the cord - Italian boys can do no wrong in the eyes of their mothers.
That, and because of those incredible genes we mentioned earlier, my 50+ year old MIL is hotter now than I ever will be.
My Italian nana had three boys and one was CLEARLY her favorite. She definitely had no problem cutting the cord with my dad!

I am out of that competition too - in fact I am pretty sure I am pre-dispositioned to the "Sophia Petrillo" gene.
