I dooo love Family guy!
Like the one where Peter and Lois are at it like rabbits in the bedroom and the bed is creaking wildly. Everyone else in the house is awake and trying not to listen, except for Stewie, who's have a dream of sitting on a rocking chair on a porch, creaking in time with the bed. "It's good to own land..."
Oh dear, it's just too funny. And;
"Hey, that's the guy who fell on Joan Cusack"
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.
Derek Mahon
"Maybe all one can do is hope to end up with the right regrets."

i enjoy FAMILY GUY but Ms Burnett doesnt deserve any mean-spirited jokes at her expense. she deserves nothing but kindness & gratitude.
she's had such hard times through life, & all she's ever done is turn the tears into laughter for other people.
i'd never seen this episode but it wouldve made me sad if i had.
some people are worthy targets for satire.
Ms Burnett is not.

I suddenly have new respect for Barbra Streisand, who didn't sue when SOUTH PARK did an episode in which a giant Barbra Streisand Robot Monster nearly destroyed the town.
Not to mention the bit in the movie with Winona Ryder and the ping pong balls.

kringas, it's part of the by-laws that are pending. it's up for a vote in the rules committee right after my addition which can be found in paragraph 9, subsection dd - new member girly booty clause: all doable female posters over the age of 18 must submit full body front and back nude photos to papalovesmambo within 30 days of registering with broadwayworld.com or lose their membership, be forever banned, have their families shunned and their friends stoned to death by midget porn stars.
Glad I joined before this went into effect.

I accidentally read the title as Carol CHANNING, and was a bit confused as to why she'd bring up the Tyson v. Channing boxing match from a few seasons ago.
Hah.

Not to mention, Jon, the Jabba the Hutt-like creature that South Park used to parody Sally Struthers, and the many, MANY unkind to say the least parodies she's endured over the years. Nary a lawsuit of which I've heard.
but again, copyright infringement is different, if indeed this is what Burnett's suit is based on.

I have to disagree with you, n69n. Family Guy (and all outlets that utilize satire) can't make fun of one person and not another. That's the cardinal rule of satire: If you're going to pin one person/idea/whatever, you have to pin them all. You say she doesn't deserve it. Perhaps not, but do you think that the multitude of other people that Family Guy has satirized deserved it?
Way to have a sense of humor, Carol.

"Never underestimate the power of Carol. She sued the National Enquirer once, won, and used the money to endow a journalism school scholarship."
Um, the National Enquirer is scum - Family Guy is actually decent entertainment.
Burnett is just a b*tch, probably still chaffed that "Hollywood Arms" bombed.

I say we sue Burnett for her performances in The Front Page, Annie, and Once Upon a Mattress.
(not funny since 1972) (or thereabouts)

I'm not at all surprised. The fox censors have way too much experience with this law to know exactly how far they can push it. If they allow it, they know it's not litiginous.
Anyway, Stil LOVE Family Guy, and still LOVE Carol. Glad it's over.
I was just thinking about this the other day Kringas, thank you for sharing.

Posted: 5/28/07 at 6:31pmI still don't think it's fair that they made a jive at her after having been denied permission for the gag they wanted to do, but I also think Carol is being a little too sensitive in this case. It wasn't that big of a deal. No one even remembers it.

"Burnett is just a b*tch"
DFW,
Do you know her? Have you worked with her? How can you make that statement?
She is one of the nicest people ever.
