Oy, I'd lean more towards calling that an oddity if anything! But that color-shifting dress is nifty though, now I'm torn.

Looks like the color is just messed up for the first shot. As for Fantasia I must be missing something...

You don't see anything unusual.. or perhaps insensitive about the clips, Catsny?

I have the original VHS release (from . . . back then) and the deleted scenes are in it.

DG-
Is it the one with the black casing that doesn't fit with the rest of the Disney releases?
Fantasia bored me as a kid...but considering I had a picture book of Little Black Sambo and Brer Rabbit, I wouldn't have noticed anything wrong.
I do now though...and yikes.

Ah! I didn't know that. I always thought they removed them with the 60's theatrical release.

Fantasia bored me too.
Oddly, I very much enjoyed Fantasia II.

I did too! We took a field trip in 8th Grade to the IMAX to see it.
That was a kick-ass field trip.

Husk - yes, black case.
BFB - I think it was the reaction to the initial VHS release that caused the ruckus.
And TAZ - I simply won't comment on your boredom with the INCANDESCENT, BRILLIANT and MONUMENTAL achievement that is FANTASIA

I've never actually sat and watched the entire film. But, I think we also had one of those VHS copies when I was growing up, but I was more interested in the Ninja Turtles back then.

I love both FANTASIAs! I'm a fan of traditional animation anyway, so I may be a bit biased, but the first one is truly a work of art, especially considering it was all done by hand.

Yes, back in 2000/2001.
There is a 3-Disc box set with it, Fantasia 2000 and some bonus stuff.

That graniness comes from real artists having their work blown up to such gigantic proportions.
See it again.
