Super 8 Times Square - 46th between 5th and 6th Avenues. Check out www.super8.com and www.applecorehotels.com (sometimes the latter has cheaper rates, and doesn't charge any additional service fees or cancellation penalties as long as you cancel a day or two in advance).
Comfort Inn Times Square is also close to the Super 8.
Both of them include free continental breakfast, and Super 8 has free Internet and printer available behind the lobby.

Corine2 knows all the cheap establishments in NY. She has never actually booked a room. But she has been in all of them. ( she is such a cheap hussy).
The Edison offers a actors equity discount and they don't ask for credentials after you check in.

Is it that horrible? I'm not well-versed in hotels -- I live close enough to New York where I never have to deal with hotels myself.
The horror story I heard involved rats. But it was from someone who has a tendency to be overdramatic, so I wasn't sure.

The Best Western on 48th near time square is ok...we had extreme pot heads in the room next to us so the whole floor reaked! and the elevators were broken.
Come to think of it, don't stay there.

I was going to book Hotel Carter or Hotel Pennsylvania until I came across these reviews (and photos from the reviewers) on Tripadvisor. Then I ran far, far away. Some of the review titles are LOL-worthy. Do check out the candid photos for Carter.

Dame honey,
I wish my sex life was that good!
Actually, I have never stayed at any hotels in NYC. I live here.
But, I had a tv show in 80 hotels called Corine's Pix, and we had problems at the Carter. Seems some hookers tried to steal our machine and they also tried placing disgusting ads on them.
I had to go there and have it removed.
The place is skanky!

I have, BobbyBubby. It doesn't bother me. Of course, modesty is not one of the things I'm known for.

Posted: 10/17/05 at 4:48pmHehe...I'm not modest either but I don't want to be stabbed in the shower.
