This may be the best chocolate bar ever made. Dark chocolate with pieces of crystalized ginger. Has anyone else had this? It's like I can't stop. And everyone I've introduced it to is also completely taken by it.

Dark chocolate with either raspberries or cherries does my swede in.
And I've also tried a bar with fig and orange recently that is good too.

I was introduced to this chocolate bar by someone who worked at Whole Foods. "Have you tried this yet?" she asked. That was several years ago. Whole Foods was the only place I could find it.
On Friday, I found it at Target, and it's $1.00 cheaper than it is at Whole Foods. I work with people who NEVER eat sweets but who make an exception when--and only when--I bring one of those crystalized ginger chocolate bars to a meeting.
There's something about it that's just so different.

miss pennywise, I bought some of this chocolate today, and I almost finished the bar. I'm not very partial to dark chocolate, but the ginger lightens the taste. That ginger stuff is great.
I bought one for my friend who is pregnant. I am sure she's gonna love it.

I've only tried the milk chocolate bar, but it was still amazing.
I should pass by Whole Foods or Target tomorrow and pick up one with the crystalized ginger,

HA HA HA HA HA! Curious, I'm so happy you said, "I almost finished the bar" because that's what happens to me whenever I have one. Usually, I can make a good chocolate bar of that size last for weeks. Not so with the crystalized ginger chocolate bar! (I gave one as a gift today, too.)
Don't you love the crunchiness of it? And how the ginger just melts away? And the contrast in texture between the chocolate and the ginger? There's so much going on!

Oreos don't come close!
I forced myself to take another bite just so I could show you all what the actual bar looks like. It was a sacrifice, but when it's for the greater good, well, you know.

Wouldn't it have been funny if I'd been wearing MY In The Heights t-shirt tonight? (I have the same one!)
Post it in the vacation thread. Eating that Chocolove bar IS like having a vacation in your mouth!

I thought I another bar on hand, but when I went for it, it was nowhere to be found.
So either...A) my kids ate it and destroyed the evidence B) I have eaten all 5 of the bars I bought at Target on Friday C) There is a bar or two in my desk drawer at work which I thought I brought home.
All I can say is, "I need a fix, man."

One more reason to go to the city tomorrow.
But I said I'd stop spending like crazy on food. Hm.

xoangel, Chocolove with Crystallized Ginger is not "food." It is an essential element of life like water, oxygen and laughter.
Thank goodness I had two untouched bars stashed in my desk drawer at work. I'm taking them home for the weekend.
