With this surgery, can there be any doubt he plans to run?

If he was planning on running, he wouldn't need the surgery.

Thank you. Thank you. I'll be here all week.

There is no doubt that Christie will seek the 2016 nomination .

I liked Roxy's joke.

I was someplace that had on NBC Nightly News hosted by one of my regular FBs in my dreams, Brian Williams. It was sorta mean, Williams walking along a Jersey boardwalk in his skinny jeans talking to Christie, the whole point being that it's nobody's business so here we are talking about it on NBC Nightly News.

SNAFU - no doubt he plans to continue his political "Career" - that is the word he used in an interview. I live in New Jersey and do NOT like him particularly for his loud mouth attitude.

Unfortunately for him - I really wonder if the republican party is brave enough to nominate him. Christie was pretty chummy with Obama. Christie was also recently not invited to attend a big GOP event.

Of course I wish him well with his weight lose. I have several friends who have undergone the proceedure with mixed results. It is a tool that only works if you modify your diet. One of the biggest threats is exactly why a friend failed. She never stopped ingesting the half/half, sugar, sweets on a daily basis. The lap band helps to prevent food from passing as easily. If you eat too fast it blocks up and makes you vomit. If you keep swallowing high calorie items that easily slide past the lap band...you can actually put weight ON!

Coming out of the weight loss surgery closet here (at least to this board: I had gastric sleeve surgery and have lost 180 pounds in nine months.

I can only eat four ounces of food at a time. The big benefit of the sleeve vs. the lap band is that the sleeve cuts out the part of your stomach where ghelerin, the hunger hormone, is produced. I am not hungry at all, and have to remember to eat in order to stay healthy. My diet is virtually all protein - very low fat and practically no carbs. My daily calorie intake is around 700. I man no longer diabetic, and no longer have high blood pressure, cholesterol and triglicerides. I am no longer taking any medication except multivitamins.

The only way to sabotage the diet is to eat and/or drink very high fat/high carb foods. Yes, if you were psychologically predisposed to self-destruct, you could eat candy and drink milk shakes and Jamba Juice all day. I eat chicken, fish, lean beef or pork on rare occasions, low fat cheese, and egg whites. Four ounces per meal, three meals a day. That's all. Period.

In addition to eating steak, he said that in the days after his surgery, when he had to eat soft foods, mac and cheese was on his menu. Doesn't mac and cheese defeat the purpose of trying to lose weight?

He's loud, he's crude, and he's vulgar.

HMMM sound like my Mayor's twin. PLUS he has a radio talk show!

Yes, if he was eating mac and cheese during the post-surgery "soft foods" phase, he's missing the point. My soft foods were low-fat cottage cheese, scrambled egg beaters, and tuna salad made with low fat mayo. high protein - low carbs, low fat.
